The Kupferstichkabinett (Museum of Prints and Drawings) showcases a stunning collection of Italian, early German, and Netherlandish drawings from some of the world's most internationally celebrated artists.
Expect a rich display of works from famed German artists including Edward Munch, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and Matthias Grünewald, as well as unique postwar pieces from the likes of Alberto Giacometti, Andy Warhol and Jasper Johns.
You'll find exquisite drawings covering a range of different artistic eras, from the late Gothic and early Renaissance periods to 20th-century pop-art glamour.
The works of art on display do react sensitively to light. For this reason, and due to the sheer scale of the collection, the museum’s works are not on permanent display, but circulated according to different themes at different times of the year.
