Live in the Orlando area or traveling there sometime soon? We have some great tips to save you money and add to your overall experience. As you likely know, there are plenty of Orlando attractions for the entire family, so deciding which to visit during your stay can be daunting. We’re here to help with tips for enjoying your favorite attractions and suggestions for excursions that are a little off the beaten path.
If you’re planning to visit SeaWorld, we have some tips for maximizing your experience. If you’re interested in a photo op with Shamu and friends, plan to be at the front of the park between 9 am or noon. Also, if you want a front row seat on Journey to Atlantis, we recommend waiting until the end of the day since you will get pretty wet.
With so many famous attractions in Orlando, it’s very easy to miss the hidden gems, like Gatorland. The name of this attraction does itself a bit of a disservice because you’ll find much more than just alligators. From bobcats to snakes, Gatorland lets you view numerous creatures you’d find just down the highway in the wild of the Florida Everglades. You don’t just view the animals, you can experience them up close in the free-flight aviary, and, if you want a real thrill, you can try zip-lining over crocs and gators!
Alternatively, if you want to visit the real Everglades, try a Boggy Creek Airboat ride. Transporting you to the heart of the central Florida Everglades, these boats reach speeds of up to 45 miles per hour. So, not only will you explore the wildlife of the Everglades, you’ll navigate the swamp waters in style! There’s no guarantee that you’ll encounter any gators, but it’s a pretty safe bet.
For an experience outside the box, consider iFly, an intense indoor skydiving experience. A wind turbine suspends you in the air, giving you the sensation of skydiving. No need to conquer a fear of flying to be able to enjoy this experience!
If you’re looking for even more of a thrill, rev up your engine! Richard Petty Driving Experiences gives you the opportunity to take the helm of an authentic NASCAR vehicle. In addition to receiving one hour of instruction, you’ll have a chance to drive multiple laps on a one-mile IndyCar track. This experience is pricey, but for the ride of a lifetime, worth it!
And last, but certainly not least…
