Smart Destinations Donates to Relief and Recovery Effort in Japan

Company Donates Portion of Every Sale to Support Give2Asia

Boston, MA — Smart Destinations, provider of Go City Cards, multi-attraction passes designed to save travelers time and money, has partnered with Give2Asia to donate funds raised through online sales of its multi-attraction passes in support of the earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan. Give2Asia is a partner organization of the Asia Foundation and is a leader in facilitating philanthropic giving to Asia, including disaster relief and recovery.

For every Go City Card or Explorer Pass purchased on the Smart Destinations website now through April 15, the company will donate one dollar to the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief fund, established by Give2Asia.

“Our heart goes out to the Japanese community, which has endured such great devastation over the past few weeks,” said Cecilia Dahl, President and Founder of Smart Destinations. “We are honored to partner with Give2Asia for such a worthy cause. We encourage all those planning vacations or local getaways to visit our site and buy a card, as your purchase will immediately aid those in need in Japan. Visitors to our site can also find information on making personal donations to Give2Asia.”

The donations raised by Smart Destinations and Give2Asia will fund short- and long-term projects, helping Japanese communities deal with the disaster’s aftermath, while also providing immediate relief in situations where there are more pressing needs.

In 2010, Smart Destinations’ multi-attraction passes saved travelers more than $9 million on sightseeing, attractions and additional travel expenses in 14 destinations across the U.S., including Oahu, which was also impacted by the tsunami. Through April 15, travelers can continue to save money with Smart Destinations’ multi-attractions passes, while also supporting an important cause.
