  • Entrance fees to Chichén Itzá and Saamal cenote included.
  • 2 hours 30-minute Chichén Itzá guided tour.
  • 1 hour 45-minute at Hacienda Selva Maya and Cenote Saamal.
  • A 45-minute stop at Valladolid.

Get immersed in Mayan history and tick off some of Mexico's most popular things to do on this full-day tour.

You'll be picked up from your hotel and taken to Chichén Itzá early in the morning to beat the crowds and enjoy a quieter experience among the magical ruins. Your bilingual guide will take you on a tour around the site, giving you the chance to learn all about ancient Mayan civilizations and take plenty of pictures of the impressive pyramids.

After your Chichén Itzá tour, it's time for a typical Mexican buffet lunch at Hacienda Selva Maya and a cooling dip in the natural cenote Saamal where you'll have plenty of time for a refreshing swim. On your way back towards Cancun, your final stop will be at the colonial town of Valladolid where your guide will provide some top tips and leave you to explore its impressive architecture and quaint pastel-colored buildings.

Chichén Itzá facts

  • The well-known and frequently-photographed pyramid that dominates the site of Chichén Itzá is called El Castillo.
  • Many of the sites in Chichén Itzá are known for their unusual acoustics. Clap once from one end of the Ball Court and it produces nine echoes in the middle of the court. Clap in front of the Kukulkan Pyramid and it creates an echo that sounds like a serpent’s chirp.
