Overview
Designed to entertain the whole family, this park is home to three Hollywood studios: Sony Pictures Studios, DreamWorks Animation, and Lionsgate. Ride rollercoasters, make a splash on the water rides, take in a show in the theater, and much more.
There are five different zones to explore in the park, younger visitors will love Smurfs Village, while thrill seekers can head to Columbia Pictures and take on the Green Hornet Coaster. Other film-themed rides include How to Train Your Dragon, Madagascar, Ghostbusters, and Hunger Games. All in all there are 27 immersive rides and attractions, and 15 live entertainment experiences to enjoy.
Once you’ve had your fill of movie-themed rides, grab a bite to eat in one of the nine restaurants or hit the shops for some retail therapy and to pick up merchandise from your favorite movie. Perfect for film-fans and fun-seekers, this theme park is a must do on your Dubai vacation.
MOTIONGATE(™) Dubai highlights
Columbia Pictures
Buckle up and get ready to scream. In this zone, there are seven attractions including a water ride, coasters, a drop tower, interactive shows, and more. Ride the high-speed Green Hornet coaster, join in on a paranormal battle and help the Ghostbusters save New York City, and help Selene take on the Lycans in the supernatural universe of Underworld in a 4D experience.
Smurfs Village
Head to this immersive Smurf colony and explore the zone’s five kid-friendly attractions, including interactive play zones, family rides, and a theater.
DreamWorks
There are four DreamWorks movie-themed lands to explore here. Head to Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon, Madagascar, and Shrek, and jump on the roller coasters, thrill rides, multimedia theater shows, family rides, and interactive attractions.
Lionsgate
This zone is all about high-energy movies. Experience your favorites, like Hunger Games, Step Up: All In, and Step Up: Revolution, in an action-packed immersive way with thrill attractions and live entertainment. Soar over Panem and battle peacekeepers, propel towards the Capitol on the Capitol Bullet Train—a backwards, forwards, and upside-down coaster—, and watch the Step Up Dubai dance crew prepare for the international championship.

Underwhelming
AbdulOur visit to Motiongate was quite underwhelming. A large number of stores and rides were closed, which really limited the overall experience. The park felt unusually empty, with very few visitors, and the atmosphere honestly gave the impression that the place might be going out of business. For the price and expectations, it was disappointing, and there wasn’t much to do compared to what was advertised. Hopefully things improve in the future.
