Boston is one of the most successful sports cities in the United States. It's won more championships across their major sports franchises than any other city in the twenty-first century. Many of its teams hold notable records in their respective sports. From Bobby Orr to Larry Bird to Tom Brady, Boston has been home to some of the most famous athletes in the world. The Boston Bruins are one of the original six franchises in the National Hockey League. They are one of the most iconic teams in hockey history. They’ve won the Stanley Cup six times, with players like Bobby Orr, Ray Bourque, Patrice Bergeron, and Zdeno Chara gracing their roster across history. The spoked “B” is one of the most recognizable locals in the league. The black and gold jerseys are ubiquitous in Boston. The Bruins play at TD Garden, a facility in the North End of Boston. The North End is full of delicious authentic Italian cuisine, making it a great place for dinner before the game.

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are, hands-down, one of the best sports franchises in the country. One of the original teams of the National Basketball Association, they’ve won more NBA titles than any other team with 17 titles to their name. Their mascot (Lucky the Leprechaun) and name are a nod to the city’s deep Irish heritage. The Celtics have too many famous players to name, but their most legendary stars include Bill Russell (winner of 11 championship titles), Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett. They also play in TD Garden, near to both the North End and Quincy Market/Faneuil Hall.

Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox are winners of nine World Championships, have won four of those titles since 2004. They’re half of one of the most iconic rivalries in baseball (Yankees vs. Red Sox). Also, they play in the oldest stadium in Major League Baseball—Fenway Park. Take a tour of Fenway Park to learn all about their long and storied history. Learn about famous players from Ted Williams and Carl "Yaz" Yastrzemski to David Ortiz, also known as “Big Papi.” The ballpark is also located in a neighborhood filled with great restaurants and bars, so check them out before a game.

New England Patriots

One of the most winning teams in the National Football League, the New England Patriots are either beloved or reviled. They have set astonishing records across the board, from an undefeated season to most Super Bowl appearances. Their current quarterback, Tom Brady, is perhaps not only the most famous athlete in the league but also arguably one of the best quarterbacks of all time. New England Revolution

The New England Revolution is one of the ten charter clubs in Major League Soccer. It is a beloved franchise among fans in the entire northeast. They’ve had some of the most famous players in MLS history on their roster, including Taylor Twellman, and they have recently hired the most successful coach in MLS and American soccer history—Bruce Arena. The Revolution, or “Revs,” play at Gillette Stadium along with the Patriots, as they are operated by the same ownership group. Patriot Place, as the area about the stadium is known, has been developed into an entertainment complex. It has everything from shops to restaurants and sports bars and hotels.
