Visit the Jewish Museum London with Go City®
- With us, there are no entry fees on the day – all you've got to do is show your pass.
- Learn about London’s Jewish heritage inside this Victorian building in Camden Town, close to Regent’s Park.
- The museum is home to several permanent galleries, plus touring exhibitions and displays, events, workshops and more.
The Jewish Museum is a celebration of Jewish life, culture and heritage told through an impressive collection of ceremonial objects, prints and drawings, photographs, films, sound recordings and more.
Step inside to discover 1,000 years of Jewish history. Highlights of the four permanent galleries include world-class examples of ceremonial art such as a beautifully carved and gilded synagogue ark from the 17th Century, once used to hold Torah scrolls, and silver Torah ornaments from London’s Great Synagogue, destroyed during the Blitz.
A focal point of the museum’s ground floor, the mikveh is a ritual bath that dates back to medieval times. The ground-floor gallery is also where you’ll discover a very well-preserved 1925 painted silk banner from the London Jewish Bakers’ Union.
History: a British Story brings vibrant Jewish culture brilliantly to life, and tells the tale of how Jewish immigrants from all over the world became a part of London’s fabric. Step into a faithful recreation of an old East End street and tailor’s workshop, and get hands-on with the great migration board game and Yiddish theater karaoke.
Leon Greenman OBE was an Auschwitz survivor whose wife and son were murdered in the notorious extermination camp. The Holocaust Gallery features moving footage of Leon talking about his unimaginable experiences, as well as displaying poignant personal possessions including his wife’s wedding dress and son’s toy.
