What you'll do

There's no place like Rome! Of course you're there to eat delicious food and taste sumptuious wine, right? If you are, then this walking tour is definitely up your street.

Talking about streets, you'll embark on a culinary adventure on this tour through Rome's famous cobbled roads in the Vatican district and Trionfale market. There are 7 stops on this journey so make sure you don't fill up on bread at breakfast! Start at the lively Trionfale Market bursting with local goodness and fresh ingredients. You'll begin the tour light with some classic Supplì —crispy rice balls filled with mozzarella and tomato sauce.

Next, you'll head over to the cheese stall and enjoy a platter featuring Italy’s finest cheeses, and then to the charcuterie stall to savor some cured meats including salami and prosciutto.

After your starters, the tour continues to a nearby trattoria for a traditional Roman pasta dish. Looking for an authentic cacio e pepe or carbonara? This is the place you'll find it! Quick wine break? You deserve it after all that walking and eating. Pair your meal with a proper Italian wine and learn all about the regions and culture.

Enjoy a slice of Roman-style pizza from a nearby pizzeria and then end the tour with dessert (of course). Indulge in traditional Roman desserts like maritozzi – sweet buns filled with whipped cream – or crostata and reflect on the delicious food-filled day (and now your stomach!).

Highlights

Not touristy

Unlike more famous markets like Campo de’ Fiori, Trionfale Market is mainly used by locals, giving it a more authentic feel.
