Summer Top Up Competition Terms & Conditions 

1. THE PROMOTER 

The promoter is: Go City® Limited (company no. 03497724), of Grainhouse, 6 Dryden Street, London, WC2E 9NH. 

2. THE COMPETITION 

2.1 

The title of the competition is the Go City Summer Top Up.  

2.2 

Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter can be found via the official @gocity Instagram account - https://www.instagram.com/gocity/ 

3. HOW TO ENTER 

3.1 

The competition will run from 00:00 BST on Monday July 15th (the "Opening Date") to 23:59 BST on Sunday September 22nd (the "Closing Date") inclusive. 

Every 2 weeks within this period, a new competition ‘burst’ will launch, categorized as follows. 

• Burst 1 – Monday July 15th - Sunday July 28th  

• Burst 2 – Monday July 29th - Sunday August 11th  

• Burst 3 – Monday August 12th – Sunday August 25th  

• Burst 4 – Tuesday 27th August to Sunday September 8th  

• Burst 5 – Monday September 9th - Sunday September 22nd 

3.2 

All competition entries must be received by the Promoter [at the address set out at Condition 1] by no later than [23:59 BST] on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified. 

3.3 

To enter the competition, individuals must visit the official @gocity Instagram account and complete the following steps:  

• Follow the official @gocity Instagram account  

• Like the post associated with the current competition burst  

(see condition 3.1) 

• Tag who will be joining you  

• Comment where you’re heading to and how you’d make the most of a summer top up

3.4 

No purchase necessary [and there is no charge to register for use of the website]. 

3.5 

The Promoter will not accept: 

(a)responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or 

(b)proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition. 

3.6 

By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. 

3.7

3.8 

The competition entries will be judged by a panel of three judges based on the most apt, creative and original answer to the question of how you’d make the most of a summer top up. The decision of the panel of judges (acting reasonably) will be final. 

3.9 

The Promoter will send the full names of the judges to anyone who writes within one month after the Closing Date of the competition requesting details of the judges via the email address [email protected]. 

4. ELIGIBILITY 

4.1 

The competition is only open to all residents of the UK and USA [aged 18 years or over] who are travelling to one of Go City’s destinations between July 15th 2024 and October 31, 2024, except: 

(a)employees of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies; 

(b)employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or 

(c)members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above. 

4.2 

In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim [the prize OR any prize you may win]. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition. 

4.3 

The Promoter will not accept competition entries that are incomplete.  

4.4 

The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.  

4.5 

Competition entries cannot be returned. 

5. THE PRIZE 

5.1 

The prize will consist of one of the following options per competition burst, as outlined in condition 3.1:  

• Up to 6 (six) people 5 Day All Inclusive Pass to any Go City destination  

Or  

• Up to 6 (six) people 7-Choice Explorer Pass to any Go City destination  

 

Travel, accommodation and other subsidies outside of the Passes are not included.   

5.2 

The prize is supplied by Go City®Limited (company no. 03497724), (the "Supplier"). The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter's control makes it necessary to do so. 

5.3 

The prize is not negotiable. 

5.4 

In order to claim the prize you must acknowledge and reply to the direct message (DM) sent by the official @gocity Instagram account and provide any details requested by the promoter. 

If you receive communication from any other accounts, please block & report as spam - do not click on any links. 

6. WINNERS 

6.1 

The decision of [the Promoter OR the judges nominated by the Promoter] is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into. 

6.2 

The Promoter will contact the winners personally as soon as practicable after the Announcement Date, using the Instagram handle provided with the competition entry.  

6.3 

The winners agree to the use of his/her/their name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry.  Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current [UK] data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent. 

The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will publish the names of winners and, if applicable, send to anyone who emails or writes to the address set out in condition 1, (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within 1 (one) month after the Closing Date of the competition. 

6.4 

If you object to any or all of your name, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the Promoter by emailing [email protected]. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request. 

7. CLAIMING THE PRIZE 

7.1 

 If you are the winner of the prize, you will have 7 days from the Announcement Date to claim the prize by referring to the details of how to claim in Condition 5.8. If you do not claim the prize within this timeframe, your claim will become invalid.  

7.2 

The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf. 

7.3 

The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed their prize within 7 days of the Announcement Date, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date. 

7.4 

The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize. 

7.5  

For USA winners, a prize value of $600 or more will need to be reported to the Internal Revenue Service. The winner/s is responsible for any tax implications associated with the prize.  

8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY 

Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected. 

9. OWNERSHIP OF COMPETITION ENTRIES AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS  

9.1 

All competition entries and any accompanying material submitted to the Promoter will become the property of the Promoter on receipt and will not be returned.  

9.2

You agree that the Promoter may, but is not required to, make your entry available on its website https://gocity.com/ and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition. You agree to grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable license, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the competition entry [and any accompanying materials], to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-license the competition entry [and any accompanying materials] for such purposes. 

10. DATA PROTECTION AND PUBLICITY 

10.1 

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with, Instagram (Meta) or any other Social Network. You are providing your information to Go City® and not to any other party. The Promoter will only process your personal information as set out in the Privacy Policy - https://gocity.com/en/privacy  

See condition 6 with regard to the announcement of winners. 

11. GENERAL 

11.1 

If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition. 

11.2 

The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so. 

11.3 

These terms and conditions are governed by English law. If any entrants to this promotion wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within the courts in the United Kingdom.
