With an impressive collection of art that spans 5,000 years from artists and cultures around the world, the Art Institute of Chicago will keep art lovers and culture vultures very happy.

The museum is widely considered to be one of Chicago's finest attractions and features a diverse array of stunning modern and contemporary artworks. Here, you can see the largest collection of Impressionist paintings outside of Paris, including works by Van Gogh and Georgia O’Keeffe.

Throughout the Art Institute of Chicago, spot famous artworks such as Grant Wood’s American Gothic, Katsushika Hokusai‘s The Great Wave, and Marc Chagall’s America Windows.

Fast Pass admission entry allows you to see all of the museum’s non-ticketed special exhibitions. Occasionally, certain exhibitions require an additional paid ticket you can purchase on entry.

The Art Institute of Chicago has two dining spaces that are open year-round to all visitors with a ticket. The Café offers fresh seasonal dishes, including sandwiches, salads, and desserts, and the Modern Bar serves lighter fare, plus a coffee, tea, and beverage menu.
Can I check my coat and bag?
Yes, checkrooms are free for all visitors. Bags larger than 13 x 17 x 4 inches are not allowed in the galleries and must be checked. Smaller backpacks are permitted, but visitors may be asked to wear them on the front of their bodies.
