Visit Palazzo Barberini, a famous Baroque building in Rome that houses the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Antica. It was once owned by Pope Urban VIII, Maffeo Barberini, known for the XIII Jubilee and his influence in popularizing the Baroque art movement.
Within the gallery, there are over 1400 masterpieces that span the 13th to the 18th century. The expansive collection includes works by Borromini, Caravaggio, and Bernini. Famous masterpieces include Raphael’s “Fornarina” and di Cosimo’s “Saint Mary Magdalene.”
