Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood
Select Nights Each year Universal Studios Hollywood hosts one of the scariest and most exciting Halloween events in L.A. – Halloween Horror Nights. Expect nothing but the best makeup, special effects, set décor, music, and general ambiance from this legendary studio. You’ll enjoy featured spooky performances, terrifying mazes, and much more as you traverse the back lots of Universal City. This event is not recommended for children under 13. Knott’s Scary Farm at Knott's Berry Farm
September 19 - November 2
Don’t let the cute name fool you – this alternate version of local favorite Knott’s Berry Farm is certainly spooky enough. A tradition that’s been going on for 40 years (!), Knott’s Scary Farm is a month-long event that transforms the entire park into one giant Halloween party. From themed performances and haunted mazes to the hundreds of costumed monsters roaming “scare zones” throughout the park, Knott’s will be filled with some pretty terrifying fun. While the evening events are recommended for children over 13, check out kid-friendly “Camp Spooky” during the daytime hours for the younger ones. Dark Harbor at The Queen Mary
Many of you may know that the historic Queen Mary vessel that docks in Long Beach, CA is rumored to be haunted. Well, this is the perfect time of year to go see for yourself! Now in its 10th year, The Queen Mary's Dark Harbor is full of scary and spooky Halloween events. Hop aboard this eerie ship and learn about the legends that haunt the Queen Mary year-round, and then enjoy costumed performers, spooky mazes, and more Halloween fun on the nearby docks. This event is not recommended for children under 13. Getting In: Admission to Dark Harbor is separately ticketed and not included with the Go Los Angeles® pass. Fright Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain
Nobody does festive like Six Flags. That’s why Six Flags Magic Mountain is the place to be this Halloween. You’ll enjoy “Thrills by Day, Chills by Night” at this annual Fright Fest. See your favorite rides transformed into horrifying new experiences, enjoy special Halloween shows and monster performances (complete with plenty of scary special effects and gruesome makeup), and try to avoid the largest concentration of spooky clowns in all of California. Take the kids to enjoy the “Trick or Treat Trail” and Halloween-themed crafts during the day, and return with only the adults for the real fun after dark. The Dungeon of Doom at The Hollywood Museum
Another offering in the Hollywood Museum's favorite Halloween-inspired fall exhibits, "Dungeon of Doom" features all your worst nightmares from the silver screen. Experience that same thrill and burst of fear that you get from watching Hollywood's iconic horror films. such as Child's Play, Silence of the Lambs, Nightmare on Elm Street, and many more. Walk through a scary dungeon setup, see artifacts and props from the featured films, and generally try to stay away from Freddy Kreuger and company. Getting In: Tickets to the Dungeon of Doom (and general admission to the Hollywood Museum) is included with the Go Los Angeles® pass.
Boo at the Zoo at Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens
Head to the Los Angeles Zoo for a fang-tastic Halloween zoo experience. "Boo at the Zoo" promises a fun-packed visit with spooky activities, shows, crafts, special animal feedings (including "Fearsome Feedings" - parental discretion advised), and more. The zoo's Halloween bash features daily activities like "Animals and Boo" encounters, the "Nocturnal Adventure" maze, and spooky photo opportunities with additional things to do on weekends throughout October. Getting In: Boo at the Zoo activities are free with admission. Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens tickets are included with the Go Los Angeles® pass. 
Los Angeles Haunted Hayride at Griffith Park
Head to the city’s favorite greenspace for a bit of haunted hayride fun. This is hosted in the Old Zoo in Griffith Park, which is otherwise a great place for bike rides, hikes, picnics, and more. But this super scary experience is not for the faint of heart, and probably not for young children. Survive this 25-minute trail ride and you’ll have something to brag about to your friends. Harvest Festival And Corn Maze
Forneris Farms, Mission Hills This family-friendly festival is a great event that runs both on the weekends and during the week. Wander a charming pumpkin patch, hop aboard a tractor-led train ride, explore a pretty big corn maze. Let the kids do it up in the “Farm Frolic” area. On weekends, you’ll also be able to enjoy live entertainment, face painting, and pony rides. There is even a great little petting zoo. A good complement to any scary adults-only stuff you may be planning. Getting In: Admission to the Harvest Fest is separately ticketed and is not included with the Go Los Angeles® Card.
