This special branch of the Met museum, alongside The Met Fifth Avenue and The Met Breuer, is dedicated to the art and architecture of medieval Europe. It spans four picturesque acres on the banks of the Hudson River and boasts over 2,000 outstanding artworks and architectural elements from medieval times.

Know before you go

Getting In: Present your pass at any of the desks located in the Great Hall.

Please Note: Admission to the museum grants you complimentary same-day admission to The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Met Breuer. Therefore, your pass will not need to be scanned at these museums if you visit them on the same day as your visit to The Cloisters. You will need to show your museum ticket at entry.

Closest Subway Stop

Take the A train to 190th Street and exit the station by elevator. Walk north along Margaret Corbin Drive for approximately 10 minutes or transfer to the M4 bus and ride north one stop. If you are coming from The Met Fifth Avenue, you may also take the M4 bus directly from Madison Avenue/83rd Street to the last stop. (Please allow more time for this option.)
