A great way to see the sites, without all the effort! The Petit Train de Montmartre leaves every 30 minutes in the summer, and every hour in the winter months. The train departs from Place Blanche (opposite the Moulin Rouge) or at the top of the hill, Place de Tetre. Enjoy guided commentary in French or English and even a bit of music, too!

    • "Montmartre" means "Mount of the Martyr" – the first bishop of Paris, Saint Denis, was decapitated at the top of the hill in 250 AD. 
    • Until 1860, Montmartre was a different town from Paris and traditionally was in conflict with the rest of the city.
    • Picasso used to visit the Lapin Agile and would pay for his lunch with drawings.
    • Montmartre has it’s only vineyard – the only one in the whole of Paris.
