Leaving Plaza de Catalunya first thing in the morning on an air-conditioned bus, you'll
enjoy the ascending trip to the mountain of Montserrat, located 720 meters above sea level. Offering some of the best sunrise views you could possibly wish for, Montserrat is the perfect spot to snap some spectacular landscape photos and soak in the unique views.
You'll then be left to explore on your own. Perhaps you can take a visit to the famous Benedictine monastery? Or you can don your hiking boots and follow one of the picturesque

The monastery was founded in the 11th century and rebuilt between the 19th and 20th centuries. Today, it
still functions with over 70 monks and is notable for enshrining the image of the
Virgin of Montserrat.

Montserrat was declared a National Park in 1987.
"Montserrat" literally means "saw mountain" in Catalan which is in reference to the appearance of the multitude of jagged rock formations that are visible from a distance.

How to get there
Take subway line L1 to the Arc de Triompf station and once there, cross the park. The meeting point is on the opposite side of the Arch monument.

Nice experience overall, but a little bit rushed
Alin ·The guide was really nice, explaining throughout the trip the story of the city and the objectives that we could see and the transfer was smooth. Even so, the time allowed on the mountain is REALLY short. The 3 hours allowed before leaving are too short to be able to enjoy/see what the zone offers. Please give the tourists more time on the mountain. I get it that the parking for the bus is 10 € per hour but raise maybe the ticket price to cover for the expenses.

Marc ·As the attraction states, this is just the transport and doesn't include a guide or entrance inside. We might have upgraded to a guide if the option has been available and we bought tickets onsite to enter the chapel and see what we wanted to see. Beautiful site with great views.
