What you'll do

Enjoy Montserrat On Your Own with Go City®

  • Use your pass to get return transportation to Montserrat.
  • Escape the Barcelona crowds and explore some of Catalunya's most beautiful scenery.

Get out of the city and explore one of Catalunya's most picturesque locations - Montserrat - without worrying about transportation.

Amigo tours will pick you up and drop you back off right in the heart of the city, and give you plenty of time to explore Montserrat at your own pace.

Leaving Plaza de Catalunya first thing in the morning on an air-conditioned bus, you'll enjoy the ascending trip to the mountain of Montserrat, located 720 meters above sea level. Offering some of the best sunrise views you could possibly wish for, Montserrat is the perfect spot to snap some spectacular landscape photos and soak in the unique views.

You'll then be left to explore on your own. Perhaps you can take a visit to the famous Benedictine monastery?  Or you can don your hiking boots and follow one of the picturesque hiking routes. It's totally up to you.

Montserrat highlights

Santa Maria de Montserrat - the monastery was founded in the 11th century and rebuilt between the 19th and 20th centuries. Today, it still functions with over 70 monks and is notable for enshrining the image of the Virgin of Montserrat.

Montserrat facts

  • Montserrat was declared a National Park in 1987.
  • "Montserrat" literally means "saw mountain" in Catalan which is in reference to the appearance of the multitude of jagged rock formations that are visible from a distance.

Go City is a better way to sightsee. Your pass includes Montserrat On Your Own tickets, plus admission to dozens of top Barcelona attractions for one money-saving price.
