What you'll do

Take a deeper and more personal look at Gaudí’s work at Torre Bellesguard, a striking 15th-century royal palace that features Gaudí’s more unusual work, compared to anywhere else in Barcelona.

In the tower, you’ll see the legendary architect’s medieval Gothic stonework, blended with his signature Modernista flair. The result is austere, with a romantic touch, ancient and unequivocally Gaudí all at once.

Built between 1900 and 1909, at Torre Bellesguard, you’ll find exquisitely tiled ceilings, with an attic space made up of elegantly lit brick arches reminiscent of cathedrals. You’ll find beautiful stained-glass windows and interior ceilings dotted with jewel-bright pendant shades.

Take your time with your audio guide – available in a multitude of languages – to fully appreciate the intricacy of Gaudí’s work. The audio tour is divided into two parts; the exterior element is self-guided, and the interior tour is with a member of the Torre Bellesguard team, running every 30 minutes.

The experience lasts around one hour, so feel free to take your time throughout. Let the commentary draw you into each room and allow you to uncover the medieval origins.

Find out more about Jaume Figueras and his wife María Sagues Molíns who commissioned Gaudí, and the architect's gift for incorporating history and nature into everything he designed. Today, the building is owned by the Guilera family who have owned it for over 70 years.

The Torre Bellesguard museum draws far fewer visitors than other sites across Barcelona. Here, you can enjoy a rarer, more intimate look at Gaudí’s masterpieces.
