Up to 8 hours
Self-guided Toledo tour
Take a day trip to the ancient Spanish city of Toledo to marvel at its medieval castle, grand Gothic cathedral, and 10th-century city gates.
What you'll do
Stroll the medieval streets of Toledo on a self-guided tour that lets you choose exactly which attractions you want to visit.
Toledo is a Unesco World Heritage Site, and it’s easy to see why. Narrow lanes and tiny cobbled alleyways wind past ancient churches and synagogues to the gigantic gothic confection that is St Mary’s cathedral, and a formidable 16th-century fortress at the top of the hill. There’s also a crypt full of mummies and many more subterranean delights to explore, including caves, cemeteries and Roman baths.
Depending on your return time, you can spend up to eight hours here, to allow for a more leisurely visit –and to give you a chance to sample Toledo’s famous marzipan, and pause for albondigas and patatas bravas in some of the excellent side-street tapas bars.
