What you'll do
Hop aboard the Creole Queen and take a journey through time to the olden days of New Orleans. You'll discover 300 years of New Orleans history as you pass the French Quarter, the Port of New Orleans and Jean Lafitte National Park.
As you come across famous landmarks and historic areas of the city, your onboard guide will detail the founding of present-day New Orleans by the LeMoyne brothers, the expansion of the city into the French Quarter, and the Louisiana Purchase.
When you get to the historic Chalmette Battlefield, you’ll dock and disembark for some on-foot exploration. On an hour-long guided tour led by National Park Rangers, you’ll learn more about the battlefield, the critical Battle of New Orleans, and why New Orleans history is so important for Louisiana and the US as a whole.
The old-timey ship would easily suit the New Orleans of 100 years ago. It's powered by a huge 24-foot paddlewheel, which was the predominant way of propulsion for steam-powered boats back in the day. This ship, however, boasts luxurious decor, air conditioning, and safety aspects that wouldn't have existed on the old ships, so you'll get the perfect combination of authenticity and comfort.
