DAY 1 Stop #1:WonderWorks

WonderWorks Orlando is one amazing attraction. For starters, everything is upside-down! With more than 100 fun and interactive exhibits to explore, you’ll never tire of this place. Some highlighted exhibits include a 36-foot-tall indoor ropes challenge course, a 4-D Extreme Motion ride, simulated earthquakes and hurricanes, a machine that allows you to measure the speed of your baseball pitch, and many more!

Among these many delightful activities, a few of our favorites also include an awesome glow-in-the-dark ropes course and the always-enjoyable laser tag. We recommend reserving about 2 hours for this attraction.

Stop #2: SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium

Home to more than 5,000 diverse sea creatures from vibrant, tiny little fish to a Giant Sea Octopus, SEA LIFE Aquarium Orlando is an excellent place for those who love animals and all things aquatic. Filled with multiple themed habitats and several interactive components – including a very popular rock pool filled with sea anemones – this aquarium is a must-visit.

You should also make sure not to miss Orlando's only 360-degree ocean tunnel, which allows you to walk *under* majestic sea creatures.

Stop #3: Gatorland

There’s no other place quite like it in the world – Gatorland is a truly unique destination dedicated to the most iconic of all Floridian creatures, the alligator. Of course, they’ve got a few crocodiles, too! You’ll experience everything from tours and performances to exhibits and nature walks, all contained within this 110-acre wildlife preserve. There’s even a petting zoo! (Don’t worry – there are no alligators there.)

Be sure to also check out their Gator Gully Splash Park, which turns this already awesome attraction into a delightful place to be amid Florida humidity. This attraction is a quintessential destination for the Orlando traveler. We recommend reserving between 2-3 hours for this attraction.

Stop #4: The Wheel at ICON Park

You've got to make sure you spend some time at the tallest observation wheel on the East Coast! The Wheel at ICON Park offers truly astonishing views of Orlando – stretching far and wide. No matter what time of day you plan to visit, we are sure you will have amazing sights of the Central Florida.

This place is an amazing addition to I-Drive. You're also very close to a number of other fun attractions that you could explore, either in addition to today's itinerary, or on another day. From an aquarium to a museum to a golf course, there is plenty to love about this area!

DAY 2 Stop #1: Gray Line Orlando Day Tour

Since you spent most of yesterday indoors, dedicate today to exploring the great outdoors. This day-long excursion provides a comprehensive perspective on the city of Orlando and its surrounding environs. From Lake Eola and charming Winter Park to the shopping distinct of Park Avenue and Disney’s City of Celebration, you’ll get a great overview of the area’s biggest highlights.

You’ll even get plenty of time on your own to spend exploring each distinct neighborhood. This tour lasts for approximately 7 hours. Because the tour does last all day, plan to each lunch along the way – perhaps along Park Avenue?

DAY 3 Stop #1: LEGOLAND® Florida

LEGOLAND® Florida Resort is actually the biggest LEGOLAND® park in the world, and that’s saying something! This 150-acre theme park features more than 50 rides, shows, attractions, restaurants, and gardens for you to explore – all of which are LEGO®-themed.

We should also note that this is primarily designed for children ages 12 and under, so if you're a party of all adults, or with older children, you can substitute another attraction for LEGOLAND -- perhaps the iconic Kennedy Space Center?

Check out our guide for tips on visiting LEGOLAND Florida before your visit. We recommend reserving between 3-4 hours for this attraction.

Stop #2: Fun Spot America

Eat, Play, and Unwind: The Top Things to Do in Doctor Phillips

Things to Do in Doctor Phillips: Your Guide to Orlando’s Tastiest, Trendiest Neighborhood  So you're planning a trip to Orlando, and you've heard a buzz about Doctor Phillips. Curious? You should be! While Orlando is famed for its theme parks and big-ticket attractions, Doctor Phillips is where the city’s savvy locals come to play, dine, and kick back. Nestled just southwest of downtown Orlando and a stone’s throw from Universal Studios and International Drive, this area bursts with energy—think showstopping restaurants, quirky attractions, park fun, and a pinch of local flavor you won’t find anywhere else.  Maybe you want a killer brunch, or your squad is searching for an offbeat adventure. Perhaps you’re here with the whole family and need a park to burn off that sugar rush after dessert (more on that soon). Doctor Phillips has you covered, blending casual charm with just the right amount of excitement. Let's break down all the tasty eats, cool activities, and laid-back hangouts that will turn your visit from basic to legendary.  Our favorite things to do in Doctor Phillips include:  WonderWorks Orlando  The Orlando Eye  Madame Tussauds Orlando  SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium  Restaurant Row: fine dining & casual eats  Orlando Magic Ticket at the Kia Center  Fun Spot America  Dr. P. Phillips Community Park  Museum of Illusions  Chocolate Kingdom  The Orlando Eye: Soar High Above the City  You can’t miss The Orlando Eye (now the Wheel at ICON Park) when you drive through the Doctor Phillips area—it towers over everything with its 400-foot-tall circle of sparkling lights. Step into a roomy, air-conditioned capsule for a slow, scenic spin and soak up unbeatable views of Orlando’s theme parks, city center, and shimmering lakes. On a clear day, you can see all the way to Cape Canaveral!  What’s great about this giant observation wheel? It’s completely chill—no sudden drops or spinning. Instead, you’re treated to a gentle ride and a new perspective on the city. Each pod holds small groups, making it ideal for a date night, a family selfie session, or even a quiet moment away from the theme-park crowds. If you're feeling fancy, the VIP experiences layer on champagne and special photo ops.  At sunset, The Orlando Eye lights up in rainbow hues, while the city glows below—trust us, it’s camera-roll gold. When your ride’s over, stick around ICON Park for everything from seafood at Sloppy Joe’s to arcade action at In The Game. A must for anyone wanting the best Orlando view.  Madame Tussauds Orlando: Snap Selfies With the Stars  If you’ve ever wanted a picture with Beyoncé, Superman, or even Abraham Lincoln, your wish comes true at Madame Tussauds Orlando. This wax museum isn’t just about lifelike figures—it’s designed for interactive fun in every room. Link arms with Wonder Woman, shoot hoops with Shaq, or “meet” Walt Disney, all without leaving Doctor Phillips.  Each themed zone pops with music, props, and clever backdrops. We especially love the Orlando-exclusive displays featuring Florida-centric personalities. And, unlike those velvet-roped museums, you’re encouraged to go wild with your poses—bring on the group shots and TikToks!  The museum is compact enough to explore in under an hour, making it the ideal filler between meals or before your Wheel ride. Pair your Madame Tussauds stop with the other attractions at ICON Park—everything’s in easy walking distance. Don’t forget to check out the custom wax hand-making station: it’s a quirky, totally unique souvenir.  SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium: Dive Beneath the Surface  Ready to cool off? SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium is a short hop from Doctor Phillips and turns any afternoon into an underwater adventure. Wind your way through winding tunnels surrounded by sharks, rays, and sea turtles. Kids go wild for the 360-degree ocean tunnel—nowhere else in Orlando gives you that jaw-dropping feeling of being surrounded by swimming giants!  Beyond the visual spectacle, SEA LIFE does a fantastic job of sharing the stories behind the fish. Dive presentations, rescue tales, and creature feedings keep things lively. For little ones, there are hands-on touch pools and conservation-focused exhibits—so everyone learns something new.  The space strikes a perfect balance: immersive but not overwhelming, with plenty of surprise moments (don’t miss the transparent bubble tanks!). Finish your visit picking out sea life plushies in the gift shop or snap a “deep sea” family photo for your vacation album.  Restaurant Row: Orlando’s Culinary Powerhouse  Doctor Phillips’ Restaurant Row along Sand Lake Road is the foodie heart of Orlando. From sushi bars to white-tablecloth steakhouses, this mile-long stretch is legendary among locals—and a must for visitors who crave a break from standard park fare.  Feeling indecisive? Don’t worry—every taste is represented. For an upscale date night, book a table at Christini's Ristorante Italiano, where velvet booths and live accordion music set the mood, and hand-rolled pasta steals the show. Seito Sushi serves up fresh, inventive rolls and a stylish urban vibe—try their Truffle White Tuna roll for pure magic. Eddie V’s Prime Seafood offers ocean-fresh oysters and martinis with a side of jazz from the live band.  Feeling casual? Slate’s wood-fired pizzas, Big Fin Seafood’s outdoor patio with happy hour oysters, and Rocco’s Tacos’ energetic Tex-Mex flair deliver effortless fun. Every spot shines for its hospitality—servers genuinely love sharing their favorites and make every meal feel like a special occasion.  If you’re in town over a weekend, brunch takes center stage: think bottomless mimosas at Vines Grille, cinnamon-cream cheese stuffed French toast at First Watch, or café con leche at Café Tu Tu Tango. There’s no better way to start your Doctor Phillips day.  Fun Spot America: Relive Your Favorite Amusement Park Classics  Located just off International Drive and minutes from Doctor Phillips, Fun Spot America has a cool retro-carnival vibe that brings out everyone’s inner kid. What makes it special? Classic rides, free admission and parking, and a pay-as-you-go system—which means you can pop in for an afternoon of go-kart racing, wild spinning rides, and arcade showdowns.  The wooden rollercoaster, White Lightning, gives you that old-school rush, while the multi-level go-kart tracks keep the competition alive long after sunset. The SkyCoaster—a hybrid bungee jump and swing—offers unbeatable city views and major bragging rights. Smaller kids get their pick of gentle rides and carnival games, while teens gravitate toward speedier thrills.  Don’t overlook the food carts for funnel cakes and lemonade, and snag a souvenir photo with the classic red Fun Spot logo. This is theme park fun with a local, no-pressure twist—just what you need on a laid-back day.  Dr. P. Phillips Community Park: Picnic, Play, and Lake Views  Looking for a break from crowds? Dr. P. Phillips Community Park is a hidden gem where you can slow down and soak up classic Florida sunshine. Set on the edge of picturesque Big Sand Lake, this park serves up lush green spaces, shady picnic pavilions, and two standout playgrounds for little explorers.  What makes this place special is its versatility. Load up a picnic and claim one of the lakeside tables, let the kids run wild through splash pads and jungle gyms, or rent a kayak for an hour of gentle paddling across the water. Locals love the paved walking trails that wind through nature—they’re stroller-friendly and perfect for that after-lunch stroll (or to spot some local wildlife).  Weekends often bring food trucks or little league games to the park, giving you that all-American neighborhood vibe. The views across the lake at sunset? Pure serenity. For a peaceful, free outing surrounded by greenery, this is Doctor Phillips at its finest.  Museum of Illusions: Reality, Reimagined  Shift your perspective (and puzzle your friends) at Museum of Illusions on International Drive, right in the heart of Doctor Phillips. It’s a sensory playground full of mind-bending visual tricks, physics-busting installations, and photo spots guaranteed to make your Instagram followers do a double take.  Here’s what we can’t get enough of: you don’t just look at the exhibits—you’re part of them. Lie on the ceiling in the Rotated Room, “shrink” or “grow” Alice in Wonderland-style in the Ames Room, or escape into an endless vortex tunnel. Staff members love to snap your weirdest moments, and there are handy photo guides so no one misses the quirkiest angles.  It’s a blast for families, date nights, or any friend group with a sense of humor. We always come out with new favorite photos (and a few giggle fits). Pop next door for gelato or bubble tea—there’s plenty more to explore in this vibrant corner of Orlando.  Chocolate Kingdom: Sweet Tooth Adventures  End your adventure with something delicious! Chocolate Kingdom is a real-life chocolate factory adventure just outside Doctor Phillips, where you’ll discover how cocoa beans turn into your favorite bars and truffles—complete with tastings at every step.  Start with a guided journey through the factory. Interactive storytellers guide you past a chocolate river, an actual cacao greenhouse, and “Willy Wonka” style machinery. The highlight? Rolling up your sleeves to craft a customized chocolate bar—add-ins like caramel, pretzels, and even spicy chili flakes make each creation unique.  Kids and adults alike are treated to demonstrations, fun trivia, and, of course, samples galore. The factory store is a treasure trove of handcrafted goodies, so save some space in your suitcase. Sweet memories (and sugar highs) await!    Check out our guide to magnificent mornings in Orlando, and browse our deep dive into the Museum of Illusions.  Step up your sightseeing with Go City®  We make it easy to explore the best a city has to offer. We’re talking top attractions, hidden gems and local tours, all for one low price. Space Rockets or Upside Down Fun: Your Orlando Showdown Guide!

Orlando boasts more than theme park thrills—here, science takes center stage. If you’re looking for things to do beyond the usual, you’ll quickly discover two standouts: Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and WonderWorks Orlando. At first glance, one launches you into outer space while the other flips the world upside down (literally—its building is hard to miss). But which is right for your crew? We’re putting both attractions head-to-head—from jaw-dropping exhibits and interactive experiences to the best bites nearby (and where to grab a celebratory cocktail afterwards). Ready to plan your next adventure? Let’s dive in.  The lowdown  Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex  Located on Merritt Island, about an hour’s drive from Orlando  Home to real NASA rockets, the Space Shuttle Atlantis, and astronaut training simulators  Meet an astronaut and explore launch pads used for real missions  IMAX 3D space movies and hands-on exhibits for curious minds  Epic Rocket Garden stroll among past launch vehicles  Offers behind-the-scenes tours, including the Apollo/Saturn V Center  WonderWorks Orlando  Found on International Drive in the heart of Orlando  Eye-catching upside-down building that’s impossible to miss  Packed with 100+ hands-on exhibits and illusions for all ages  Explore an indoor ropes course, laser tag, and the Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show  Experiment with tornado winds, lie on a bed of nails, or build your own roller coaster  Family-friendly, air-conditioned fun—rain or shine  Sounds good, tell me more...  Okay, so which one is most impressive?  Both attractions drop jaws—but in completely unique ways. Kennedy Space Center wins sheer scale and historical awe. Towering rockets, real hardware from missions that made history, and the knowledge you’re exploring the grounds where astronauts walked before you—there’s a grandeur that you just can’t make up. It’s science with gravity (pun intended), packed with monumental achievements and a glimpse into humanity’s future beyond Earth.  WonderWorks, however, impresses through interactivity and energy. If you’re looking for a place bursting with hands-on learning and laughter, WonderWorks delivers. Navigating its themed zones feels like wandering through a playful science lab on steroids, where curiosity reigns. Every floor confounds explanation and rewards boldness. It’s impressive by being immersive and unpredictable.  Which one is more fun?  Fun can be found at both, yet it takes different forms. At the Kennedy Space Center, fun comes from immersive simulators, spellbinding storytelling from real-life astronauts, and the thrill of being close to genuine space tech. Launch countdown clocks, moon rock samples, and intricate exhibits turn even the most reluctant learner into a rocket scientist for a day.  Meanwhile, WonderWorks approaches fun with the volume cranked up. Race against laser beams, try to conquer the ropes course, or hop inside a hurricane simulator. Everything is designed for giggles, shrieks, and nonstop discoveries. Kids and adults alike find themselves giggling as they lie back on a bed of nails or try their hand at the bubble lab.  Which is more beautiful?  Beauty at Kennedy Space Center comes from its vast outdoor spaces, where gleaming rocket silos, wide launchpads, and natural Florida coastline mingle. The Rocket Garden is pure nostalgia, especially at sunrise or sunset with pastel skies as the backdrop. Walking through the Saturn V Center beneath the 363-foot-long rocket, surrounded by history, is iconic in itself.  WonderWorks glows in its own way. Neon lights, quirky displays, and interactive art sculptures turn the indoors into a burst of sensory excitement. Its upside-down architecture sets the stage for offbeat photo ops. But if you’re after those classic, natural vistas, Kennedy’s open sky wins the peaceful beauty contest; WonderWorks is for a different, “so-cool-I-have-to-take-a-picture” aesthetic.  Which has the better view?  Hands-down, Kennedy Space Center delivers when it comes to earth-shattering views. You can see actual launch pads, peer across the wild landscape of Merritt Island, and even watch a rocket launch if your timing’s right. The observation platforms look out across the NASA campus, and ocean breezes sweep in—just add binoculars.  WonderWorks, meanwhile, is all about indoor sights and sound—a kaleidoscope of colors, crazy installations, and creative illusion displays. You’re not coming here for sweeping vistas, but for eye-popping inventiveness.  How do I get there?  Kennedy Space Center:  By Car: About a 50-minute drive from Orlando, take FL-528 (the Beachline Expressway) east to Kennedy Pkwy.  Public Transit: Take the Greyhound bus from Orlando to Titusville, then rideshare or taxi for the final 20 minutes. Not the quickest, but it’s an option for car-free explorers.  Tours: Many Orlando hotels and travel companies run day tours with transport included; perfect if you’re skipping car rental.  WonderWorks Orlando:  By Car: Located at 9067 International Drive, parking in the lot behind the building is easy and affordable.  Public Transit: Hop on the I-RIDE Trolley (Red Line), Lynx Bus 8, or various hotel shuttles along International Drive—the area’s transportation options are plentiful and convenient.  On Foot: If your hotel is on I-Drive, walk right up to WonderWorks’ upside-down entrance.  Best choice for families, couples or friends  Families: Both attractions are a dream, but WonderWorks scores for families with energetic or younger kids. The sheer range of hands-on activities keeps little ones busy for hours. That said, Kennedy Space Center offers the kind of inspiration that can kickstart a lifelong love of science (and budding astronauts will be in their element).  Couples: For awe-inspiring date days, Kennedy Space Center ticks every romantic box—especially if you stargaze together or watch a launch. WonderWorks is perfect for couples seeking laughs and teamwork on the ropes course, especially those who thrive on a bit of challenge together.  Friends: Group of friends? WonderWorks equals riotous competition and goofy shared moments. Try the laser tag or dinner show together for laughs. Kennedy Space Center suits space fans who want to nerd out on shared interests, or just take in some futuristic cool together.  I’ve got fidgety kids to entertain – which has more ‘hands on’ activities?  WonderWorks wins the hands-on battle. It’s built for touch, play, and try-it-yourself exploration—think hundreds of interactive gadgets, games, experiments, and high-energy zones. It’s physical and playful, perfect for curious minds and energetic bodies.  Kennedy Space Center has its interactive sides too (astronaut simulators, touch-the-moon-rock exhibits, Shuttle Launch Experience), but the overall pace is a little more structured. If you’re chasing chaos and excitement, choose WonderWorks; for thoughtful, awe-inspiring interaction, Kennedy Space Center still stands tall.  What’s the accessibility like?  Both attractions are equipped for most visitors:  Kennedy Space Center: Fully wheelchair accessible, with rental options. Tram tours accommodate mobility needs, hearing loops assist the hearing impaired, and guide dog-friendly policies are in place.  WonderWorks: ADA-compliant with elevators and ramps throughout. Wheelchairs welcome, and most exhibit stations designed for all abilities. Only the ropes course calls for extra requirements (minimum height and closed-toed shoes).  For those needing extra support, both sites deliver friendly, accommodating service—just ring ahead for specific needs and suggestions.  Best lunch spots nearby?  Kennedy Space Center:  Moon Rock Cafe: Inside the Apollo/Saturn V Center, classic American fare with views of the mighty Saturn V rocket. Order the burgers or the classic chicken tenders for that satisfying, kid-approved energy kick.  Orbit Cafe: Fast food with space-themed options—plant-based Impossible Burgers and pressed Cuban sandwiches get big thumbs up.  Shilohs Steak & Seafood: Just outside the KSC property in Titusville, locals love this spot for fried shrimp and riverside views of NASA’s launchpads.  WonderWorks Orlando:  Buffalo Wild Wings: Next door, this is a lively sports bar for wings, burgers, and beers in a fun, family-friendly setting.  Café Tu Tu Tango: A short walk away, this colorful spot serves up small plates and theatrical flair. Their roasted chimichurri steak and sangria are crowd-pleasers.  Maggiano’s Little Italy: Classic Italian with heaping portion sizes, cozy booths, and standout lasagna.  ICON Park: Nearby, a food lover's paradise with everything from Spanish tapas at Tapa Toro to fish and chips at Shake Shack, and the Tin Roof for Southern comfort in a live music setting.  Looking for a snack? International Drive’s street food stalls dish up everything from churros to bao buns—perfect for a quick refuel between activities.  Where are the best photo opportunities?  Kennedy Space Center:  Rocket Garden: Line up your shot just after sunrise or before sunset for glowing rockets against soft skies.  Space Shuttle Atlantis: The ultimate “look, I went to space camp!” selfie.  Apollo/Saturn V Center: Stand beneath the massive Saturn V rocket—photos here practically take themselves.  Launch Pad Views: If there's a launch scheduled, photographers line up early along the riverside observation decks for prime views.  WonderWorks Orlando:  Front Entrance: Snap the upside-down building from the sidewalk—pure “what-the-heck?” social media gold.  Inversion Tunnel: Capture your entrance face for a fun before-and-after effect.  Wonder Zones: Inside, grab photos while suspended on the ropes course or conquering the bed of nails or bubble lab.  Tip: Afternoons mean smaller crowds at both, perfect for shots without photobombs. Bring a wide-angle lens for Kennedy; charge up your phone for WonderWorks’ colored lighting.  We’re finished and thirsty – is there a decent bar in the area?  Near Kennedy Space Center:  Playalinda Brewing Company: Try the well-balanced Key Lime Slice (a Florida classic) or Splash Down Belgian. Laid-back, with NASA paraphernalia on the walls and locals swapping rocket stories.  Shilohs Steak & Seafood: Snag their house sangria or a cold local IPA on the deck, staring across the Indian River towards NASA’s launch pads.  Near WonderWorks Orlando:  The Hampton Social: Light-filled, coastal-chic vibes and their signature “frosé” (frozen rosé), plus live music on weekends.  The Pub Orlando: Classic British watering hole with pints and pub grub—try the Black Velvet (half stout, half cider) for something different.  Tin Roof at ICON Park: An easy stroll, live music, easy-going atmosphere, and specialty cocktails like the Southern Mule (bourbon and ginger beer).  Budget tip: Hotel bars on I-Drive like Rosen Centre’s Everglades Bar serve solid cocktails at wallet-friendly prices.  Any other good stuff nearby?  Kennedy Space Center Area:  Canaveral National Seashore: Free natural beauty. Head here after your visit for wild beaches, sea turtles, and untouched Florida coastline.  Space View Park: Titusville’s riverfront park themed around spaceflight—come for rocket launche watch parties and walkway tributes to space pioneers.  American Space Museum (Titusville): Want more? Interactive space exhibits with local artifacts, just a short drive away.  WonderWorks Area:  ICON Park: The Wheel (Orlando’s observation wheel) gives you sky-high views and Insta-worthy scenery.  SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium: For more hands-on exploration (and air conditioning), seeing the sharks and rays up close can’t be beat.  Madame Tussauds Orlando: Waxworks shenanigans—who knows which famous faces you’ll spot.  Pointe Orlando: Upmarket shopping, state-of-the-art movie theaters, and nightly entertainment all within walking distance.  Pro tip: I-Drive’s pedestrian walkways and public art are perfect for a quick, free photo stroll in between attractions!    Both Kennedy Space Center and WonderWorks offer experiences that sparkle with creativity, knowledge, and sheer fun.
