Archaeological Area Largo Argentina
An ancient ruin in the heart of the Eternal City.
What you'll do
Get an insight into life in Ancient Rome at the Archaeological Area of Largo Argentina.
Named after the Silver Tower known as the Torre Argentina, this square is believed to be the place where the legendary Roman emperor Julius Caesar met his end and was once filled with important temples and monuments devoted to deities.
Your visit will begin with an immersive multimedia video — produced by experts from UNESCO, BBC, and National Geographic — that brings the Roman Empire to life.
After the educational video, you’ll be free to roam the Largo Argentina ruins on your own. There is an excellent audio guide app available in multiple languages, providing further insights into the area’s impressive history, architecture, and cultural significance.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to answer any questions you may have while exploring the walkways at the archaeological area.
Largo Argentina is also famous for its thriving cat population and the Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary located inside the square
