여기서 뭘 할 수 있어요?
You can explore collections showcasing the arts and cultures of Afghanistan-Pakistan, Himalaya, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, China, Korea, India, and Japan. Immense in its scope, the Chinese Department includes some 20,000 objects covering seven millennia. The Japanese department includes 11,000 works of art spanning the 3rd century BC up to the Meiji era (1868).
The Museum of the Asian Arts originated with the collection of industrialist Emile Guimet on display in Lyon. The museum was moved to Paris and expanded by adding the works amassed by explorer Louis Delaporte during his journeys in Siam and Cambodia. The museum transferred its Egyptian pieces to the Louvre and, in return, received the entire collection of objects from their Department of Asian Arts.
Spend some quality time at this major center dedicated to the appreciation of Asian art. Enjoy the eclectic range of objects including carvings, figurines, terra cotta, textiles, prints, everyday objects and much more!
