Overview
Plunge San Diego is an enormous recreational facility located next to Belmont Park, right on Mission Beach.
Built in 1925, the original Plunge was once the world’s largest saltwater pool. Its 2019 makeover has transformed it into a modern mecca for swimmers of all ages. Dive in!
Your day pass gives you unlimited use of the enormous pool, with its seven lap lanes and a separate area that includes a huge floating obstacle course and state-of-the-art basketball hoop. A retractable roof lets the sun flow in on hot summer days and there are fine panoramic views year round from the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Poolside, there’s an additional 1000 square feet of fitness space, with spin bikes, rowing machines, a sauna and more.

Nice pool
Eric Forney ·Overall my son had a great time playing. They have swimming lanes for adults too.
Daugther had a blast
Emanuel Ursache ·Our daughter had a blast, similar to the TV show obstacles events.
Nice facility and fun for kids
Father ·Clean, nice staff, heated water and a sauna. The floating obstacle course is great for kids under 12. Too tame for older kids.
Great Spot For Kids
TRob ·Wonderful activity for getting out some energy on a random rainy day. My teens really enjoyed the obstacle course.
Disappointing. Not worth your time.
Macy ·The pool and building is shared with a gym. You can see people working out on various floors above you. There was extremely loud club-like music pumping at full volume. Though they advertise the place as family friendly with an obstacle course, I would not recommend taking children here, especially those sensitive to loud noises. I would go to the beach or just stay at a hotel with a pool. The staff and members were not friendly. Mostly filled with buff gym bros who made it an uncomfortable and unwelcome environment for anyone else.
Great!
Danielle ·Great place to stop in for a few hours to get reprieve from the sun and sand. Kids loved the obstacle course!
