This aquarium is a watery wonderland, brimming with exciting exhibitions and events. Check out the Sea Lion Center overlooking K-dock in the marina, learn about sea otters and even touch a stingray. Learn about the aquarium's efforts to promote an understanding of various shark species that are native to the area’s waters. There’s something here for all the family.

Aquarium of The Bay highlights

Discover the Bay – you’ll begin with an introduction to the unique ecosystems that support the area’s marine life. Eight exhibits make up this gallery, featuring over a thousand aquatic animals native to the San Francisco Bay.

Under the Bay – descend beneath San Francisco Bay and see moon jellies and pacific sea nettles. Next, walk through two crystal-clear tunnels, 300 feet in length, completely surrounded by 700,000 gallons of bay water and over 20,000 animals. The first tunnel contains anchovies, giant sea bass, and impressive sea stars, while the second tunnel is home to marine life that thrives in the deeper waters of the Bay, including massive Sevengill sharks and giant skates.

Touch the Bay – home to PG&E Bay Lab, this interactive exhibit features land animals and their various habitats, highlighting the negative effects of climate change. You’ll have the opportunity to touch California kingsnakes, leopard sharks, and bat rays. Visitors will also be able to participate in interactive experiments, learn how solar power works, and send e-cards to friends back home.

Getting In: admission is on a timed-entry basis; Go City customers do not need advance reservations and will receive the next available time slot upon arrival if the aquarium is at capacity.  Please call to check availability before your visit.
