What you'll do

Experience history at the LBJ Ranch, stroll down Main Street in the historic German town of Fredericksburg (where you will have time on your own to explore the National Museum of the Pacific War), visit a wine tasting room or two, or have lunch at an authentic German restaurant and Biergarten. On this tour, you'll truly take in the magic and musical history of Luckenbach, Texas.
Texas Hill Country
travel along the beautiful backroads of the Texas Hill Country and learn all about Texas cowboys and the great cattle drives from South Texas to mid-western markets. Once you get to the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park Visitor Center, you'll get a guided tour of his boyhood home before heading to the LBJ Ranch, otherwise known as the 'Texas White House'. Your guide will tell you all about the legacies of both LBJ, America’s 36th President, and his wife, Claudia 'Lady Bird' Taylor. You'll have free time to explore and the chance to have lunch at a German restaurant and beer garden, attend a wine tasting, or visit the Nimitz Museum and National Museum of the Pacific War. Next, make a stop in the town of Luckenbach, a storied town that inspired lots of musical talent, including Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Jerry Jeff Walker, Gary P. Nunn, Hondo Crouch, and many more. The last stop on the tour will be to a picturesque and award-winning winery to learn about the development of the Texas wine industry.
