San Diego is one of the world’s most ecologically diverse areas, and you'll get the chance to discover its colorful marine life. Dolphins, sea lions, and golden garibaldi fish call the area home, so don't miss the chance to explore an underwater paradise.

If you're looking for things to do in San Diego, you should definitely rent or hire snorkel gear so you can spend a day underwater.

You'll get a snorkel, mask, a wetsuit, and even flippers to propel you through the water. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the crystal clear waters and take some underwater snaps of the colorful coral. Keep your eyes peeled for the bizarre-looking Shovel Nose Guitar Fish or a harmless Leopard Shark swimming around in the kelp forest.

    San Diego Snorkel Rental highlights

Garibaldi – the beautiful orange and bluefish that has been dubbed the 'official marine fish' of the state of California. These stunning little creatures can be seen swimming near the La Jolla Caves, and usually linger near coral and rocky bottoms.

Dolphin - usually seen herding fish from the local kelp beds, these marine mammals are normally visible in the mornings and late in the afternoon. Look out for flocks of sea birds, which usually indicate the presence of dolphins.

Sea Lions - catch these playful creatures splashing around in the La Jolla Ecological Reserve or the La Jolla Caves, where they're usually seen in abundance. Don’t get too close though, these cute lions are protected by the Marine Mammal Protection Act.

Go City is a better way to sightsee. Your pass includes Snorkel Rental tickets, plus admission to dozens of top San Diego attractions for one money-saving price.
