    About this experience

Here’s your chance to get under the skin of Seoul and tick off several bucket-list attractions in one three-hour walking tour of some of the city’s historic highlights. Your English-speaking guide will regale you with tales from South Korea’s rich history, covering culture, politics, royalty and industrialization.

The tour kicks off at the stunning complex of 16th-century buildings that comprises Deoksugung Palace, one of Seoul's famed ‘Five Grand Palaces’ from the Joseon Dynasty era. Explore its traditional Korean-style pavilions and wander the perfectly manicured gardens, with their peaceful lotus pond, grand statues and lofty pine trees.

The tour also calls at Gwanghwamun Square, a popular gathering spot for locals who congregate around the towering bronze statue of revered 15th-century monarch Sejong the Great. You’ll also get a chance to visit the dancing fountains dedicated to Yi Sun-sin, and learn all about this legendary 16th-century admiral. The fountains are overlooked by a fearsome statue of the admiral himself.

Other highlights on this epic delve into Korean culture include the old-world charm of Donuimun Museum Village with its traditional hanok houses, serene Gyeonghui Palace, and the pretty banks of Cheonggyecheon, a seven-mile stream with a long and storied history, that flows through downtown Seoul.
