Marble Collection or Terrazzo Coaster Workshop at Chokmah

Get creative and learn how to make your very own coaster at Chokmah, an artisanal Singapore homeware brand. 

You’ll choose from either a Marble Collection or a Terrazzo style coaster workshop. 

You’ll learn all about Jesmonite®, the material used to make the coasters, and create your very own coaster to take home. All materials are included, so you are free to focus on the creative process. 

At Chokmah, the team will show you colour mixing, pouring, and casting techniques. The best bit is that you can make your coaster using any colours you want, so every piece is unique to you. 

If you’re making a marble coaster, you’ll learn how to swirl the colours together to create the marble effect. Match it to the colours in your home or simply mix your favourites to create a beautiful swirl or speckled effect. 

Inspired by 16th-century Italian design, terrazzo features flecks of vibrant colours within the coaster. If you choose terrazzo, instead of cement and marble pieces, you’ll use Jesmonite® to create the colour chips. 

Jesmonite® is used for all sorts of projects, from trinket trays to cladding. It’s water-based, easy and safe to work with. There’s no need to bake or fire the piece, so it’ll be ready at the end of your experience, which will last approximately one hour to 90 minutes.
