Located on the Prinsengracht canal in Amsterdam's central district of Jordaan, you'll find the Houseboat Museum on board the Hendrika Maria. This former cargo ship was built in 1914.
Venture on board and discover what life is like on a houseboat and how the ship was converted into comfortable living quarters. Explore the authentic skipper's quarters, sleeping bunks, spacious living room, kitchen, and bathroom.
The Hendrika Maria was originally used to transport sand, gravel, and coal until the 1960s. After it was converted, it was used as a private residence before becoming a museum!
Visitors can learn more with a self-guided tour, available in 20 languages. Please note that refreshments are available to purchase.
