The 9/11 Memorial and Museum honor the nearly 3,000 victims of these attacks and all those who risked their lives to save others. Head to the Memorial’s twin reflecting pools that sit in the footprint of where the Twin Towers once stood. These pools are each nearly an acre in size and feature the largest manmade waterfalls in North America. The names of every person who died in the 2001 and 1993 attacks are inscribed into the bronze panels edging the pools.

Your pass provides entry to the museum's 110,000 square feet of exhibition space, where you’ll experience the story of 9/11 through multimedia displays, archives, narratives, and a collection of monumental and authentic artifacts.

The 9/11 Museum and Memorial in New York City commemorate the fatalities of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. This site, occupying the area where the Twin Towers once stood, includes a collection of material focusing on the events of that day and related topics such as the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. It honors those who died in these incidents and provides a reminder of one of America's darkest days.

The museum offers multimedia exhibits, artifacts, photographs and personal narratives related to the events before and after September 11th. 'In Memoriam' is one of its displays that serves as a tribute to those who perished on that day.

The "September 11th: The Day That Changed The World" exhibit examines the events of that day through archival footage and audio recordings. It offers visitors an insight into the lasting impact of the September 11th attacks on American society.

In the memorial, two reflection pools are located at the sites of the former twin towers. Each pool is inscribed with the names of those who perished on 9/11 and visitors may pay their respects by adding flowers or other tributes.

A visit to the 9/11 Museum and Memorial is an experience that should not be missed when in New York.

9/11 Memorial & Museum highlights

Foundation Hall

At 15,000 square feet with a 60 feet-tall ceiling, the Foundation Hall is the museum's largest room. It is home to a portion of a surviving slurry wall, a retaining wall built to hold back the waters of the nearby Hudson River when the World Trade Center site was first excavated in the mid-1960s. Following the collapse of the towers on 9/11, the slurry wall remained intact—a potent symbol of strength and resilience.

Historical Exhibition

Located within the footprint of the North Tower, this exhibition presents the story of 9/11 in three parts: before, during, and after. Artifacts, images, first-person testimony, and archival audio and video recordings are used.

Memorial Exhibition

This exhibition is dedicated to and commemorates the people whose lives were lost during the attacks on September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993.

Pavilion

In the entrance hall you can view ‘The Tridents,’ two 80-foot tall steel columns that once formed part of the exterior of the North Tower. There is also a collection of flags, some of which made up the 180 that once hung from the original Twin Tower lobbies at the World Trade Center.
