It's housed in a historic Spanish Renaissance building and features an impressive collection of paintings from around the world. See Spanish and Italian Old Masters, South Asian paintings, 19th- and 20th-century American paintings, sculptures, and more.
As well as its permanent collection, the Museum regularly features major exhibitions of art from around the world, as well as concerts and local student exhibits. Rose from ChicagoEnjoyed my visit to the museum of Art in Balboa Park. A variety of styles and periods of art on display. The coolest (temp) was the Ancient Egyptian section.

ALeeWe enjoyed the art museum. There was a good variety of art works and in almost every gallery, we would stop and admire several paintings. It's smaller than most major museums - which I like. It gives more time to focus and allows for seeing the entire museum.
