The exhibits were fun and very informative...love that there was a sense of humor in them as well!

This is a perfect rainy day activity for the whole family; very interactive with lots of fun activities and displays to explain the history of Dublin over the centuries.

What you'll do

Step into Dublin’s past at Dublinia, set in the heart of the city’s historic quarter at Christ Church. Housed in the stunning 19th-century Synod Hall where Viking and medieval Dublin once thrived, Dublinia brings over 1,000 years of the city’s past to life through immersive exhibitions, engaging tours and authentic storytelling.

You’ll begin aboard a Viking warship and experience the sights, sounds and smells of the city during Viking and Medieval times. Try on traditional Viking clothing, explore everyday tools and weapons and uncover the myths and mysteries that shaped Viking life.

Continue into medieval Dublin and experience the city in transition. Discover life inside a merchant’s kitchen, learn about medieval medicine, punishment, and daily survival, and explore an authentic city street brought to life with sounds and stories.

Dive deeper into Dublin’s rich heritage through audio-visual storytelling and fascinating artefacts on loan from the National Museum of Ireland, including finds from the iconic Wood Quay excavations that offer a rare and powerful glimpse into everyday life in Viking-age Dublin.

Looking for a different perspective on the city? Climb St Michael's Tower (96 steps) for incredible views over Dublin!
