Overview
Explore the world of science at CosmoCaixa, Barcelona’s science museum, where you can journey from the depths of the Amazon rainforest to the far reaches of space. Since opening in 1981, the museum has been guided by three goals: inspiring an interest in science, especially among younger visitors; making science accessible, rigorous and engaging; and showing how scientific progress can improve our lives.
Discover these ideas across more than 30,000 square metres of exhibition space. Explore the Flooded Forest, get up close to spectacular geological formations, visit the Antarctic Base and travel through the Universe Hall before heading to the planetarium for a closer look at the cosmos.
Alongside its permanent exhibitions, CosmoCaixa offers a changing programme of temporary exhibitions, open learning spaces, science shows, talks and other participatory experiences for visitors of all ages. There’s plenty to discover, whether you’re exploring the exhibits or diving deeper into a particular scientific topic.
