More than 650,000 plant lovers visit Gothenburg's Botanical Garden each year, so take some time to explore the gardens and see what all the fuss is about!

Botaniska is one of the largest botanical gardens in Europe. Covering an impressive 175 hectares, they were founded by explorer and botanist Carl Skottsbery almost 100 years ago. Today, the gardens are home to over 16,000 plant species, all displayed in beautiful garden spaces uniting expertise and beauty.

Escape to the wilderness and ramble the reserve for hours without bumping into a single soul. Whether you're here to while away an afternoon or to take a whistle-stop tour of the garden, you'll be thankful you took the time to explore these beautiful gardens.

Working closely with the University of Gothenburg, the numerous cultivated gardens and Arboretum are a hub of scientific research and education so be sure to get involved!
