Röda Sten Art Gallery

Röda Sten Art Gallery offers it all, whether you want to simply admire the art or take part in the workshops and lectures, its goal is to get people thinking about the works and relate them to the lives in which we live.

The non-profit cultural organization was founded in the mid-1990s and is housed in the old boiler house, making it one of the largest contemporary art spaces on the west coast of Sweden, and you can still see old graffiti and marks from the 80s and 90s ravers on the walls.

Today you will find Gothenburg’s only legal graffiti wall located outside the building, Draken (The Dragon), which is a 41-m long sculpture by artist Per Agélii. All graffiti artists are welcome to use this space and are invited to do so - even beginners.

The gallery is filled with contemporary works and exhibitions showcasing a wide range of media. The museum is hosts the Art & Design Christmas Fair every year, and previous exhibits have looked at issues on Migration and Identity, the menopause, a Photography Exhibition from Valand Academy and an exhibition of the artworks from the locals of Majorna.

This wonderful art and exhibition center has something for everyone and encourages visitors of all ages to participate in its programs throughout the year – even if it's learning how to graffiti with the pros!
