What you'll do

The Museum of Gothenburg is a cultural history museum located in an old 18th century East India house. The museum was originally founded to showcase the natural history, art, science, and industry, with a collection of books. Now its exhibitions tell us about what life was like in West Sweden and its rich history, including the modern industrial revolution, as well as showcasing the only Viking ship in Sweden, the Äskekärrsskeppet.

Not only is this building a fine example of history itself, but a visit will give you more insight into Sweden’s rich cultural and industrial past from 12,000 years ago.

Don't miss the Children's Museum and temporary exhibitions to really make the most of your experience and time in Gothenburg. In the museum there is also a shop and restaurant.
