The Röhsska Museum
Röhsska Museum is dedicated to design, fashion, and the applied arts. The museum was founded in the early 1900s and has been attracting visitors interested in contemporary design, craft, and creative expression ever since.
What you'll do
The Röhsska Museum is the only museum in Sweden specialized in design and craft since 1916. Here you will find historic and contemporary design and craft presented in the exhibitions. The objects in the museum tell stories about creativity, expression, styles, fashion, and artistic ideals during different eras in different parts of the world.
The vast collection includes over 50,000 objects from haute couture garments, to fine pieces of furniture, silverware, costume, prints, and drawings. Here 18th-century design, and 20th and 21st-century fashion is included, as well as artifacts from as far as Asia to its native Sweden and other parts of Europe.
Design is everywhere and something that affects all of us. The exhibitions and programs at the Röhsska museum give insights into the notion of Design and how it influences our lives and material culture.
Make a visit and immerse yourself in the world of design and craft! Also, make sure not to miss out on the café and gift shop in the museum.
