- It took five years to build the Hoover Dam, from April 20, 1931, to March 1, 1936.
- The Hoover Dam was built during the Great Depression and is named after President Herbert Hoover.
- More than 100 people died from causes related to the construction of the dam.
- The Hoover Dam is 726 feet tall.
