Central Park Bike Rental – Manhattan highlights
Central Park
With 843 acres and 47 miles of paths, you might decide to spend your full day exploring the flora and fauna of this iconic green space. Check out Central Park’s Belvedere Castle – a Victorian-style structure built in 1869 – that sits atop Central Park’s Vista Rock and is the highest point in the park. Or, head to Shakespeare’s Garden and search for the plants mentioned in Shakespearean plays – great for a scavenger hunt to keep the kids entertained. Pick your day right and you may even get to see a Shakespeare play.
Museums
From Central Park, it’s easy to access most of Manhattan’s museums, including the Museum of Modern Art, which boasts an impressive collection of work by Van Gogh, Warhol, and Monet. Or, The Guggenheim, home to masterpieces by Calder, Chagall, Kandinsky, Klee, Picasso and Van Gogh. Top your day of museum visits off with a trip to the world-famous Metropolitan Museum of Art and its two million artistic works from around the world.
Manhattan Waterfront Greenway
This 31-mile cycle route will take you around the circumference of the island. There are three adjoining routes and the Hudson River Greenway is the longest, running along the West Side, from Dyckman Street in the north to Battery Park in the south. East River Greenway takes in the East Side from The Battery and past South Street Seaport to East Harlem. The shortest, Harlem River Greenway, is completely uninterrupted, running northward from 155th Street at the north end of Central Harlem to Dyckman Street in northern Manhattan.
