What you'll do

Discover radio and TV highlights of the last century, from recordings of seismic world events to classic TV movies and sitcoms.

The Paley Center boasts a staggering collection of media, with radio programs that date back to the 1920s and TV shows from as early as 1939 (NBC's silent 1939 adaptation of The Streets of New York).

You can book a two-hour slot at one of the library consoles to explore the archive of more than 150,000 TV shows, commercials and radio programs. See historic TV moments including The Beatles' debut performance on US television and footage from the 1969 moonwalk. Or relive favorite moments from TV game shows like Wheel of Fortune, Hollywood Squares and The Money Maze, of which one 1975 episode in the archive was recorded on a home VCR by Andy Warhol.

On the ground floor, the Steven Spielberg Gallery plays host to a range of events and exhibitions throughout the year. Visiting exhibitions showcase and celebrate some of TV and radio's greatest cultural milestones, and include exhibits such as photographs, original costumes and other memorabilia, plus screenings in the full-size basement theaters.
