Planning the ultimate family trip to Orlando? You’re in luck. This city sparkles with endless options, from wild animal encounters and ingenious play spaces to larger-than-life rides and magical learning moments. Whether your crew loves getting up close with gators, blasting off into outer space, puzzling over illusions, or cooling off in splash-tastic water parks, Orlando’s got something for every age and interest. Ready to turn those “Are we there yet?” questions into grins? Dive into our picks for unforgettable family experiences in Orlando!

Our favorite family things to do in Orlando include:

  • LEGOLAND Florida
  • Gatorland
  • Kennedy Space Center
  • WonderWorks
  • The Orlando Eye
  • SEA LIFE Aquarium
  • Madame Tussauds Orlando
  • Museum of Illusions
  • Island H2O Water Park
  • The Outta Control Magic Dinner Show

LEGOLAND Florida: Creativity Built for Kids (and Grown-Ups!)

If you’ve got kids in your crew, chances are they’re LEGO superfans. LEGOLAND Florida takes that obsession to the next level with interactive rides, hands-on building zones, shows, and stunning brick-built cities—all designed with kids in mind. Toddlers have their own mini lands, while bigger kids (and their adult sidekicks) can brave roller coasters, zippy water rides, and wacky driving schools.

What’s so great about LEGOLAND? The whole place bursts with color, imagination, and infectious energy. From jaw-dropping Miniland USA (spot all your favorite U.S. landmarks, in LEGO form!) to live stunt shows and meet-and-greets with LEGO characters, no detail is too small or too silly.

Gatorland: Florida’s Wild, Weird, and Wonderful

Gatorland is a local legend you won’t want to miss. Famous for its “Alligator Capital of the World” swagger, this spot offers much more than sharp-toothed thrills. Watch trainers put fearless stunts to the test in jaw-popping shows, peer down at dozens of gators from the boardwalk, and get up close with baby reptiles and fluffy residents in the petting zoo.

Kids can burn off energy on zip lines (safely above the gators!), clamber through playgrounds, and pose with the park’s famously giant gator mouth entrance. The staff are endlessly enthusiastic, the surroundings are lush, and there’s plenty of hands-on fun. It’s Florida wildlife, with a twist!

Kennedy Space Center: Rockets, Astronauts, and Out-of-This-World Learning

Space Shuttle at Kennedy Space Center

Feed your future Martians’ curiosity with a day at NASA’s legendary Kennedy Space Center. This isn’t just for space geeks—it’s an all-ages launchpad for big dreams and bigger discoveries. You’ll find towering real-life rockets, touchable moon rocks, and hands-on exhibits that turn science into play. Hop aboard a shuttle launch simulator, watch a live astronaut chat, and wander awe-inspiring halls stuffed with spacecraft.

What sets the Kennedy Space Center apart is its sheer sense of possibility. The bus tour out to the launchpads is a family favorite—you might spot a real rocket under prep or catch a glimpse of alligators lounging in the wetlands. A visit here sparks questions, fuels imaginations, and creates memories that last long after you’re back on Earth.

WonderWorks: Where Science Gets Wacky

Is that an upside-down building? Yes, the fun starts before you even walk in the door! WonderWorks is part science museum, part indoor theme park, and totally unforgettable. Three floors of interactive exhibits encourage kids (and adults) to take science into their own hands—lie on a bed of nails, experience hurricane-force winds, or test your skills in the glow-in-the-dark ropes course.

We especially love the laser tag arena and 4D simulators for older kids. It’s the kind of place that will have your family laughing, learning, and probably challenging each other to a few rematches. Perfect for rainy days or simply escaping the Florida heat.

The Orlando Eye: Sights (and Selfies) From the Sky

Give your family a whole new perspective with a spin on The Orlando Eye. This towering observation wheel lets you step into roomy glass capsules and soar above the city—on clear days, you can spot everything from downtown towers to distant theme parks. The slow-moving ride is relaxing, safe, and ideal for families who want a panoramic view (with great air conditioning, too!).

The ambience inside each pod is peaceful, making it easy to chat, point out favorite landmarks, and grab a selfie with all of Orlando spread beneath your feet. It’s especially magical during sunset, when the whole skyline lights up in rainbow colors.

SEA LIFE Aquarium: Underwater Adventure, No Snorkel Needed

Dive into a world of shimmering scales and swirling currents at SEA LIFE Aquarium. Winding tunnels place you right in the midst of rays, sharks, and playful sea turtles, while interactive tanks let kids touch a sea star or learn about Florida’s underwater habitats.

This aquarium feels both relaxing and electrifying—kids can race from exhibit to exhibit or slow down and just watch the jellyfish drift. Themed zones transport you to coral reefs, shipwrecks, and mysterious deep seas, and the staff love answering curious young questions. Calm, cool, and educational—the recipe for a family winner.

Madame Tussauds Orlando: Say Cheese with a Celebrity!

Friends at Madame Tussauds

Who’s up for a family photo with Taylor Swift, Iron Man, or Wonder Woman? Madame Tussauds Orlando is all about rubbing (wax) shoulders with stars from the worlds of film, sports, and music. The vibe here is energetic and interactive—grab props, strike a pose, or challenge the kids to a lip sync battle in one of the music zones.

This spot’s a blast for all ages, whether you’re goofing off with superheroes or snapping a family “red carpet” shot. Unlike many museums, there’s no pressure to whisper—so laugh, explore, and get creative with your vacation pics.

Museum of Illusions: Puzzles, Pranks, and Photos That Pop

Optical tricks, impossible rooms, and reality-twisting exhibits make the Museum of Illusions one of the most playful stops in the city. Try to keep a straight face in the upside-down house or stand in the Infinity Room for snaps that’ll have friends back home doing double takes.

Kids love figuring out how the optical illusions work, and adults can join the guessing games (or just embrace the silly side). It’s an indoors adventure packed full of laughs and “how did they do THAT?” moments—perfect for groups with a mix of ages.

Island H2O Water Park: Make a Splash Together

When the Florida sun is blazing, there’s only one way to cool off: go big on slides, pools, and lazy rivers at Island H2O Water Park! This park gets major points from families for its tech-enabled fun—slides play your own music, interactive wristbands score you points in splash zones, and there are play areas for little kids and thrill slides for the bigger ones.

Cabanas, shaded seating, and snack shacks keep parents happy, while the wave pool and high-speed rides keep energy at a fever pitch. It feels like a family pool party, supercharged—the perfect reward after a day of Orlando adventure.

The Outta Control Magic Dinner Show: Eat, Laugh, and Be Amazed

End your Orlando family day with a twist—comedy, magic, and unlimited pizza at the Outta Control Magic Dinner Show! The show’s intimate, interactive feel means everyone gets in on the act. Watch as props appear, candies multiply, and your table erupts in giggles. The star magician’s silly humor is infectious, and kids love being plucked from the audience to join in.

All-you-can-eat hand-tossed pizza, salad, and popcorn fuel the fun, and (for the adults) beer and wine are included. Expect to leave with full bellies, wide smiles, and a few “how’d he do that?” debates for the ride home.

Whether your family is wild for science, animals, giggles, or just splashing around in the sun, Orlando’s got you covered. Mix and match these adventures for your perfect day—every memory will be uniquely yours!

Orlando's Hidden Gems off the Beaten Path

Heading to a new city on vacation and seeing all experiencing all the top attractions is all well and good, but sometimes, you want to head off the beaten path and check out an area's hidden gems. Not only will you have smaller crowds and shorter queues, but it also gives you bragging rights when discussing said vacation with friends and family. That's why we're here to help. Check out our picks of Orlando's hidden gems, and get ready to blow people away. Including: Boggy Creek Airboat Tour Congo River Adventure Golf Gatorland Lion Country Safari and more! Boggy Creek Airboat Tour Orlando is known for many things; giant seaside properties, massive theme parks, and much more. But what Orlando also boasts is swamp land, and a lot of it. So, if you're in the city and want to see the side of it untouched by people, why not take an airboat tour of Orlando's swamps? With your expert pilot/guide in tow, you'll dash across murky waters in one of the most desolate places in America. Keep a camera or phone on hand because you'll need to take photos of alligators, turtles, birds, and many more species that call the swamp home. But let's be honest; the 'gators are the star of the show. If you want to almost guarantee you'll see them, you best take one of the earlier tours, because the best times to see them are before 10AM. Sure, that's an early start for a vacation, but it's worth it. Then when your tour ends, head to the gift shop for some 'gator-themed souvenirs. Congo River Adventure Golf There are many small joys in life. And while plugging a USB cable in the right way first-time is unarguably top of that list, right beneath it is mini golf. Nothing quite beats putting balls in holes without the pressure of impressing wealthy people. But have you ever mini-golfed in the Congo? No, of course not. Well, at Congo River Adventure Golf, you absolutely will. Featuring a full course of 18 challenging yet fun holes to overcome, you and some buddies will slowly work your way to the end, all the while surrounded by waterfalls, caves, and sneaky gorillas watching from behind rainforest. And, because it's in Orlando, you can also pet alligators, because of course you can. Congo River Adventure Golf is arguably one of Orlando's hidden gems, but it's absolutely worth a visit for a fun-filled afternoon. Gatorland What were we just saying about Orlando and alligators? While often overshadowed by the likes of Kennedy Space Center, SEALIFE, and a certain rodent-faced theme park, Gatorland may not be considered one of Orlando's hidden gems by locals or alligator enthusiasts. But for the rest of us, it probably is, and it more than earns its place on our list. For more than 50 years, Gatorland has brought the joy of alligators to the masses. And what joy is that, you ask? Well, you can watch a 'gator feeding frenzy at the Gator Jumparoo Show, watch death-defying shows of bravery at Alligators: Legends of the Swamp, and even pet some of the less-toothy animals at a petting zoo. There's plenty more to enjoy here, but you'll have to head there yourself to see it all. Lion Country Safari Orlando - and Florida in general - clearly has a love for wild and dangerous creatures. It must be from growing up so close to all them alligators. But the Lion Country Safari is 'gator-free, so if you're looking to see some exotic wildlife in their unnatural habitat - yes, including lions - then head on down for a rip-roaring time! You'll see giraffes, zebra, rhinos, and wildebeests all wandering around, doing what they do. And those are just some of the many wonderful beasts you'll encounter on your trip. Some will even come right up to your jeep, so prepare to snap some close-ups! And best of all, many people don't even know Orlando has a safari park, not only making it one of the city's hidden gems, but ensuring you won't have to queue for hours to see it all. Glass Bottom Boat & Snorkeling Tour We're going back to the water for our next pic of Orlando's hidden gems, but we're getting a bit more up close and personal now. Sure, you can look beneath your feet on this Glass Bottom Boat tour, but why not take the plunge and go snorkeling instead? Hop aboard a 45-foot, fully-outfitted catamaran as you make your way to the not-so-famous Fort Lauderdale Twin Ledges, where your ship will drop anchor and give you a chance to meet some sea life up close. Keep an eye out for turtles, rays, and a range of colorful fish as they swim all around you. Whether you're a snorkeling pro or a complete newbie, you're more than welcome to put some kit on and get in the water, so don't let a lack of experience stop you! Just make sure you bring your camera, and preferably a waterproof one! Millionaire's Row Sightseeing Cruise And finally, we'll end our exploration of Orlando's hidden gems by exploring the world of those who can afford plenty of them. Yes, we're entering the world of the rich and famous, seeing where the money lives, and feeling deeply envious about the whole endeavor. Take this Millionaire's Row sightseeing cruise, and you'll board a luxury yacht to go and see luxury houses. You'll pass by Port of Miami, Fisher Island, Miami Beach, Millionaire's Row, and much more, and your multi-lingual guide will be on hand to tell you what you're looking at. No matter rain or shine, you'll be well-served thanks to a fully air-conditioned viewing platform below deck, snacks and drinks to tuck into, and, of course, plenty of rich people's houses to photograph. And those are our picks of Orlando's hidden gems! Of course, there's plenty more to Orlando than the lesser-known attractions. So, if you want to see all of the city's best bits for one low price, check out Go City! With our All-Inclusive Pass and Explorer Pass, you're in complete control.
