Think lush gardens, Instagram-worthy high teas, and adventures that get everyone smiling. Whether your mum loves soaking up culture, cuddling critters or just some seriously relaxing pampering, Singapore delivers. We’re sharing our favorite ways to treat the most important woman in your life to a day she’ll rave about. Let’s sprinkle some magic on Mum’s day!

Our favorite things to do on Mother's Day in Singapore include:

  • Gardens by the Bay
  • Art Jamming at Café de Paris
  • Afternoon Tea at Raffles Hotel
  • Singapore Cable Car
  • National Gallery Singapore
  • Bird Paradise at Mandai Wildlife Reserve
  • Canopy Park at Changi Airport
  • Scentopia
  • Shopping and Brunch at Dempsey Hill

Gardens by the Bay: A Floral Fantasy for Mum

If your mum lights up at the sight of exotic blooms and tranquil landscapes, Gardens by the Bay is the ultimate treat. Wandering beneath the giant Supertree Grove, you'll both feel like you're in a sci-fi fairy tale—and that's before even stepping into the Flower Dome or Cloud Forest. The air inside the domes is a refreshing contrast to the city heat, and the stunning changing floral displays are perfect for those family snaps she’ll love to frame.

What makes Gardens by the Bay extra special are the details: interactive exhibits, themed gardens, and cozy spots to pause for a coffee or slice of cake. It’s never crowded early in the day, giving you and Mum a peaceful start before diving into the bustle elsewhere. For Mother’s Day, don’t miss Garden Rhapsody, the evening light and music show—Mum will remember this magical end to her special day!

Art Jamming at Café de Paris: Mum’s Creative Escape

For mums who love getting hands-on, Art Jamming at Café de Paris on Orchard Road is pure joy. Set in a cheerful, sunlit studio above a café, you can both sip on lattes and let your imaginations run wild. No previous painting experience required—just roll up your sleeves, laugh together, and create a masterpiece (or at least make a mess that’s yours to keep).

The café’s French-themed décor and boutique vibes make it easy to slow down and savor the moment. Staff are warm and always happy to guide first-timers, so every mum feels like the star of her own art show. It’s a delightful way to bond, chat, and walk away with a souvenir that’s bursting with personality. Bonus: their signature choux pastries are the perfect sweet finish after all that creative work!

Afternoon Tea at Raffles Hotel: Elegant Indulgence

Afternoon tea at Raffles Hotel is a timeless treat that never goes out of style. Whisk Mum into a world of colonial glamour—think gleaming marble, towering palm trees, and that irresistible old-world charm. The spread is legendary: petite sandwiches, delicate tarts, and scones so perfect you’ll both want seconds, all served on elegant three-tier trays.

What really sets the experience apart is the ambiance. Enjoy grand architecture, warm attentive service, and live harp music that floats through the air. Add a Singapore Sling for that extra touch of celebration and toast to Mum in the surrounds of a true Singapore treasure. It’s a slice of luxury she’ll remember every time she passes a teapot!

Singapore Cable Car: Sky-High Sights for the Family

Mother and Daughter Taking a Selfie in a Cable Car

Ditch the taxis and surprise Mum with a ride on the Singapore Cable Car! Floating above Mount Faber and Sentosa, it’s the scenic route to fun and relaxation—glorious open views, gentle breezes, and a hint of adventure. You’ll literally get a bird’s-eye perspective on the city and sea, with plenty of wow moments for family selfies.

For Mother’s Day, book a meal car for a private brunch as you cross the skyline, or simply relax and soak up the 360-degree vistas. The cabins are spacious and comfy, perfect for unwinding between stops. Tip: sunset rides are extra dreamy, especially when Sentosa’s lights start to sparkle. We think Mum will love the ‘on top of the world’ feeling.

National Gallery Singapore: Cultural Treat for Art-Loving Mums

If your mum's a culture fan, a trip to National Gallery Singapore serves up inspiration at every turn. Housed in two beautifully restored heritage buildings, it’s a joy for art lovers and history buffs alike. The galleries showcase stunning Southeast Asian masterpieces, contemporary installations, and fascinating architecture—there’s something here to spark every conversation.

Stop for coffee at one of the sunlit on-site cafés, or enjoy a leisurely lunch with panoramic views across the Padang and Marina Bay. Don’t worry about rushing; the gallery’s layout lets you dip in and out of exhibitions at a relaxed pace. For Mother’s Day, gift Mum an experience that’s imaginative, uplifting, and leaves you both seeing Singapore in a fresh new way.

Bird Paradise at Mandai Wildlife Reserve: Exotic Encounters

Treat Mum to an adventure among the world’s most colorful residents at Bird Paradise. This sparkling new wildlife reserve is home to over 3,500 birds, many in lush free-flying aviaries that get you up close to everything from playful lorikeets to regal flamingos. The immersive walk-through habitats encourage endless oohs and ahhs—not to mention great photo ops.

The peaceful lakes, gentle walkways, and shady spots make Bird Paradise an easy-going outing, perfect for mums who enjoy nature but want their comfort. Rest in a café overlooking a waterfall or watch a feeding session together for extra excitement. Best of all, this little escape feels miles from city bustle, even though you’re just a short drive from downtown.

Canopy Park at Changi Airport: Whimsical Fun Amidst Blooms

Child on Walking Net at Canopy Park

You don’t have to fly anywhere to visit Changi’s Canopy Park—a blooming paradise perched above Jewel. Wander with Mum through misty gardens, bounce across sky nets, or let loose in mirror mazes. There’s always a surprise around the corner, whether it’s a floral archway for Instagram magic or a cushy spot to chat and unwind.

This indoor garden extravaganza is air-conditioned and fully weather-proof—no worries about rain spoiling your plans! Take a break with ice cream or coffee, then snap a selfie at the topiary animals and art installations. Canopy Park’s playful, colorful vibe suits all ages and guarantees a morning of laughter. It’s a place you and Mum can both fully embrace your inner child.

Scentopia: Perfume-Making with a Personal Touch

For a Mother’s Day that blends luxury and fun, create your own signature fragrance at Scentopia on Sentosa. Here, friendly perfume experts walk you through scent personalities and help you craft a bespoke bottle of perfume from hundreds of fascinating ingredients.

Everything about Scentopia is hands-on, relaxed, and genuinely interactive. Discover new scents, share stories, and have a good laugh as you find out who has the more adventurous nose. Mum will treasure her customized fragrance long after the experience. Added bonus: with the beach just steps away, you can round off your fragrant adventure with a stroll seaside.

Shopping and Brunch at Dempsey Hill: Chic Chilling

If your mum loves to shop, brunch, and chill in leafy surrounds, she’ll adore Dempsey Hill. This colonial-era enclave is now a haven for stylish boutiques, artisan homewares, and some of Singapore’s most beloved brunch spots. Stroll beneath rain trees, browse chic galleries and discover handpicked treasures together.

When you’re ready to eat, settle in at one of the area’s gorgeous restaurants. PS.Cafe stands out with its lush greenery and signature truffle fries, while Baker & Cook is perfect for artisanal breads and pastries. The outdoor seating is breezy and relaxed—ideal for a long, laughter-filled brunch. It’s a one-stop spot to shop, eat and linger, exactly the way Mother’s Day should feel.

No matter how you choose to celebrate, Singapore absolutely shines when it comes to spoiling the mums in our lives. From peaceful garden strolls and sky-high adventures to creative workshops and irresistible brunches, there’s a perfect way for every family to laugh, relax, and make new memories together. Here’s to making this Mother’s Day in Singapore extra joyful—for Mum, and everyone lucky enough to celebrate with her!

Free Things to do in Singapore

Singapore is an expensive, luxurious city, but there’s still plenty to see and do on a budget. You don’t need to break the bank to have an unforgettable Garden City experience. So, put your purse away and check out our favorite free things to do in Singapore! Wander through Gardens by the Bay Gardens by the Bay offers a magical experience with its lush greenery and mesmerizing nature. This multi-award winning construction is one of the most visited gardens in the world, housing the world’s tallest indoor waterfall and the largest greenhouse. The Flower Dome and Cloud Forest are both cooled by a climate-controlled mountain mist system, meaning it’s a breath of fresh air during the hot, sticky Singapore days. There are paid sections, however it’s free to explore a good portion of the gardens. Plus, if you time it right, you can treat yourself to a free light show in the evenings too. Snap a selfie with the Merlion statue The Merlion statue is Singapore’s most iconic landmark and a go-to attraction for both locals and foreigners. A mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, it’s by the waterfront and a great place for a selfie. Its fishlike body represents Singapore’s origins as a fishing village, while its head represents the city’s original name, Singapura (lion city) in Sanskrit. It’s a popular spot for photographers, so try to get there early when it’s nice and quiet. You can find the statue in Merlion Park, just behind the Fullerton Hotel. Take the MRT subway to Raffles Place station or hop on bus 131. Go green at the Singapore Botanic Gardens Singapore’s Botanic Gardens is one of the most-visited tourist attractions in Singapore and for good reason - the Gardens are blissfully serene, and many people visit the Gardens for their daily stroll through nature. The Gardens house hundreds of species of native and exotic plants, as well as a beautiful orchid garden, and serve as a home for animals such as snakes and turtles. Established in 1859 as a tranquil place to rest and recuperate for workers in the bustling port city, Singapore’s Botanic Gardens are accessible for all in the heart of the city. With a restaurant, cafe, as well as a playground for children, it’s the ideal spot for families, couples or just solo wanderers looking for some quiet time. Watch the light show at Marina Bay One thing you won’t be short of in Singapore is a light show. There are shows in the various gardens, Sentosa island, Faber Peak, and more. Our advice: time your evening stroll so you’re around The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands just before sunset, and keep your camera handy. It only lasts 15 minutes, but the Spectra light show will stay with you forever. The waterworks combined with the lighting, combined with the backdrop of the Singapore skyline - perfection! Another free light show well worth visiting is Garden Rhapsody at Gardens by the Bay. Lay beneath the Supertree Grove and soak in the heady mix of dazzling lights and orchestral soundtrack. Believe us, you’ll wish it lasted longer than just 15 minutes. Have a day at the beach Whatever your dream beach vacation - relaxing under a palm tree, cocktails and live music, or adrenaline-fueled watersports, you’ll find them all in Singapore. Sentosa houses several of the most popular beaches - Silosa, Tanjong, and Palawan being the most famous. They may be artificial, having the sand imported from Malaysia and Indonesia, but that doesn’t make them any less dreamy. If you want to head a little further out, away from the immediate crowds, consider a trip to St. John’s Island. You can’t stay on the island, so take a ferry for a day trip from Singapore’s main Marina South Pier. With lagoons, caves, and mangroves to explore, be sure to pack a waterproof camera. Stargaze at Seletar Rocket Tower Dreaming of strange new worlds? Head to Seletar Rocket Tower for a spot of stargazing. Seletar Rocket Tower is a rocket launch pad in Singapore. Built in 1961 by the Royal Air Force, the tower is now used as an observation tower for stargazers. Built on a hill, the tower is 120 meters tall (about 400 feet) and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding areas. It’s accessible by stairs or by lift; however, the stairs are steep. If you are looking for an adrenaline rush, try the spiral staircase that leads to the topmost platform of the tower. On clear nights, you can see the moon, stars, and even constellations. The best time to go is during the summer months, from April to September, when the sky is clearest but, even if it’s cloudy, you’ll still get a spectacular view of the city. Take a hike For the more active travelers out there, Singapore is full of various hikes and walking routes, catering to a gentle stroll with kids up to a 39km, 12-hour coast-to-coast hike. While the 39km route might be a little extreme, the shorter routes are a nature lover’s dream. The MacRitchie Reservoir has the perfect mix of shorter, more accessible boardwalk trails and longer, more advanced hikes. Whichever you choose, you’ll be wandering through the rainforest with the chance to spot monkeys, lemurs, and rare exotic birds. There’s even a treetop walk across a suspension bridge 25 meters high. It’s free to enter, opening daily from 6AM until 7PM. Save on Admission to Top Singapore Attractions Explore the best things to do with a pass for Singapore by Go City®.
