What you'll do
Visit this key landmark and experience Singapore and Southeast Asian modern art.
Situated at the birthplace of modern Singapore, in the heart of the Civic District, the Gallery is housed in two national monuments—City Hall and former Supreme Court—that have been beautifully restored and transformed into this exciting 64,000 square metre venue.
While you're here, be sure to see the "Siapa Nama Kamu?" exhibition. Meaning "What is your name? “, this inaugural exhibition invites you to consider how art may relate to issues of self and community, and what it means to look at Singapore through its art. Also worth a visit is ‘Between Declarations and Dreams’, which houses over 300 Southeast Asian artworks, presented in a largely chronological sequence starting from the 19th century to the present day. The exhibition also identifies how art is inseparably linked to the region’s tumultuous social and political history.
Beyond their exhibitions and programs, National Gallery Singapore houses a range of art-inspired shops and restaurants, including the three MICHELIN-starred Odette.
