Barcelona Aquarium boasts over 11,000 animals, 450 different species, an underwater tunnel and live feedings - look out for some of the star species, such as sharks, eels and rays.
You’ll get to view 14 different Mediterranean-themed aquariums and learn more about the incredible creatures that call the ocean their home. See Humboldt penguins, gaze up at sharks swimming above your head, and admire the colorful fish in the tropical tanks.
The aquarium also hosts a regular calendar of events including educational talks to teach about marine conservation and shark cage diving.

The Oceanarium
Walk underneath this tank and see giltheads, moray eels, ocean sunfish, rays and two types of shark – the sand tiger shark (Carcharias taurus) and the sandbar shark (Carcharhinus plumbeus).
Mediterranean aquariums
14 different aquariums that represent different marine systems. See everything from the coralline communities, the shallow sandy coastal community, as well as Spain’s coastline and the Ebro Delta and Medes Islands.
Tropical aquariums
See jewel-colored fish swimming in and out of a coral reef.
Themed aquariums
Explore the underwater world of seahorses, invertebrates, and tropical corals.
Jewels of the Sea exhibition
This permanent exhibition looks at mollusks and their use today and in the past. See how the shells have been used in jewelry, decoration, and tools.
