Route
- Kungsportsplatsen / Stora Teatern
- Järntorget
- Linnéplatsen
- Haga
- Valand
- Korsvägen / Liseberg
- Drottningtorget
- Brunnsparken / Lejontrappan
Kungsportsplatsen is located by the popular Avenyn street, where you’ll find many shops and restaurants making this a perfect starting spot. You can join the tour here and stay on the route for the full hour, or look forward to hopping on and off for the duration of your 24-hour ticket to really explore this vibrant city.
Next to Järntorget you will find Linnéstaden, affectionately known as “Linné”. Linné is a laid-back neighbourhood with a quaint charm. Visit it by day to experience its small shops and cafés, and at night for its assortment of restaurants and bars.
At Linnéplatsen, take a short walk to the entrance of Slottsskogen. Slottsskogen is a large park and recreation area in the city centré, with natural parkland, exotic plants, play areas, cafés and a zoo. The zoo is home to Nordic animals, including moose and seals, but also penguins and exotic birds.
The fourth stop Haga attracts many visitors all year round. This cosy old district of Gothenburg has many nice cafées and boutiques. This is a great little area to spend some time idly strolling around the neighbourhood. A short walk to the Hop On-Hop Off boat (Jun 27-Aug 17) stop “Feskekôrka”. Feskekôrka is Gothenburg's most famous fish market where you can tuck into one of the many freshly caught delicacies of that day. No visit to Gothenburg would be complete without trying a herring – raw! Ask the locals how it’s done.
If you missed the first stop, the fifth will take you back to Avenyn which is a great place to hop off and walk along to admire the beautiful street. At the top, in the Götaplatsen public square, Carl Milles´ statue Poseidon has become a symbol of the city.
The bustling bus and tram junction of Korsvägen is close to the amusement park, Liseberg, as well as the mind-blowing Universeum which is fun for all the family, and the acclaimed Museum of World Culture. If you have kids make sure to get off at this stop!
Nearby to the central railway station and city gardens, you can hop off at Drottningtorget to explore your beautiful surroundings and relax in the urban oasis – A picnic in the park of the Garden Society of Gothenburg. Here is also Alfie Atkins Cultural Centre.
If you’re a shopaholic and want some retail therapy, the stop Brunnparken /Lejontrappan is one to hop off to visit Nordstan shopping mall, one of the biggest in Scandinavia! So make sure you have some stamina!
