So you're headed to Las Vegas on vacation. You've got your bags packed, you're gambling how-to pamphlets in hand, your show tickets reserved, ready to hit the city famed for its nighttime antics, but you're still wondering...are there actually things to do in Las Vegas during the day?

If you're scratching your head when it comes to exploring Las Vegas aside from gaming, shows, and nightlife, then check out our handy guide. Featuring many of the best things to do in Las Vegas during the day, we'll highlight everything from nature tours to museums and other top cultural attractions. Some of the most popular daytime activities in Las Vegas include:

  • Hop-On Hop-Off Big Bus Las Vegas Tour
  • High Roller Observation Wheel & Zip Line at The LINQ
  • Stratosphere Observation Deck
  • The Hoover Dam
  • The Grand Canyon
  • and more!

1. Hop-On Hop-Off Big Bus Tour

a night big bus travelling through neon-soaked Vegas

The most convenient way to see the sights and learn about the unique history of Sin City is a Big Bus Hop-On Hop-Off Tour. Knowledgeable and entertaining tour guides take you around the sights of the Las Vegas Strip and downtown, including the famous "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign, the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino at the Fremont Street entertainment destination, Miracle Mile, the malls, museums, monuments, and more.

Or, see the Strip lit up in all its neon-soaked glory with a Big Bus Night Tour. Given the stifling nature of Vegas' summer days, a night tour may be the perfect way to see the sights without sweating your socks off.

2. TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition

An intriguing option at the Luxor is TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition. Fans of history and of the film will love to see the informative and entertaining presentation of dozens of artifacts from the actual Titanic.

See items like luggage, floor tiles, an unopened bottle of wine from 1900, and even a piece of the ship's hull. You'll also see recreations of famous areas of the ship like the Grand Staircase, the outer Promenade Deck, and more.

3. BODIES: The Exhibition

For another engaging exhibit at the Luxor, head to the lobby. Using state-of-the-art preservation techniques, Real Bodies showcases real bodies and actual organs with the aim of promoting scientific knowledge. A visit here provides a glimpse of the inner workings of the human body.

You'll walk through nine mind-blowing galleries featuring dozens of anatomical specimens, all carefully and respectfully presented in an educational light. It's the largest permanent anatomical exhibition in the United States, which is certainly not for the faint-hearted or squeamish... but it is a must-see for all curious travelers.

4. Madame Tussauds Las Vegas

If you're looking to indulge your love of celebrity and all things pop culture, head to Madame Tussauds. It's one of the most popular attractions in Las Vegas, after all! You'll have a blast posing for photos with your favorite actors, musicians, athletes, politicians, and characters from films and TV.

Join the #superherosquad and check out the Marvel Superheroes 4D theatrical adventure to help save Las Vegas from Dr. Doom's evil plan.

5. SkyPod at The STRAT

See the best Las Vegas views from the iconic Tower at The STRAT observation deck, the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States. At 1,149 feet above ground, the 360-degree views of the Strip, downtown, and beyond are unbeatable. For an adrenaline rush, go on one of the thrill rides at the top of the tower - fear of heights not allowed.

6. High Roller and The LINQ

Vegas is full of record-breaking structures.

Don't miss the High Roller - the world's tallest observation wheel (taller than the London Eye!) for 30 minutes of Las Vegas views. At 550 feet above ground, you'll be able to see the Strip, downtown, landmarks, and more.

Then, you'll want to devote some time to exploring The LINQ, the newest entertainment, shopping, and dining destination on the Strip. Head to the Brooklyn Bowl to play a few frames of bowling or poke around the shops to find the perfect souvenir for your trip. Don't forget to check out the Zip Line at the LINQ--it's one of their most popular attractions.

7. Tour of the Hoover Dam

Check out the number one sightseeing attraction according to people visiting Las Vegas: an engineering marvel, and the "greatest dam ever built" - the Hoover Dam. A Hoover Dam tour is the best way to see this fascinating man-made attraction alongside the lush Lake Mead Recreation Area.

At the dam, you'll have a couple of hours to explore at your own pace and walk across the dam to the Arizona side, explore the works of art, check out the theater, exhibit halls, power plant, observation deck, and visitor center.

Insider tip: walk the Mike O'Callaghan - Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge for the best views of the Hoover Dam and Colorado River.

8. The Grand Canyon

grand canyon

Take a break from the busy Vegas Strip and hop on a full-day guided bus tour to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. A Grand Canyon tour is on many bucket lists and is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience. Along the way, your guides will provide entertaining and interesting information about the sights you'll see, including the Hoover Dam as you go over the Bypass Bridge, Lake Mead, the bighorn sheep habitat, Black Canyon, the 900-year-old Joshua Tree Forest, and the Grand Canyon.

After your trek out to the canyon, you'll be able to roam Grand Canyon Village, poke around the shops, check out the viewpoints, and more. You'll also have time to explore the rustic wilderness of the area and walk along the rim to check out the views and take pictures.

9. Fremont Street Walking Tour

Learn about the history of Las Vegas on a professionally guided walking tour of Fremont Street and Downtown. You'll get to walk under the world's largest video screen that covers Fremont Street and see all the historic casinos and hotels in the area. In addition to seeing all of the historic sites, you'll also get to see hotels, restaurants, and shops that are all some of the results of the big urban revival project taking place on Fremont East.

10. Escape Rooms

Escape Rooms are all the rage now among traveling friends and families, and Vegas has got more than its fair share of these experiences.

Horror fans can cut their teeth on the likes of IT, Saw, and Blair Witch-themed escape rooms, testing your nerve and your wits in equal measure. Or, for something a little more family-friendly, Number One Escape Room offers multiple scenarios for you to choose from, is suitable for kids, and offers a great way to escape the Vegas bake in peak summer.

11. Springs Preserve

spring preserve in las vegas

One of the top natural attractions in the entire region is actually within city limits! Springs Preserve is Las Vegas' hidden gem, featuring acres of botanical gardens, trails, and attractions. It's also one of the most significant cultural sites in the area.

Home to the source of water that supported an entire region of indigenous peoples thousands of years ago, this natural landmark is the reason Las Vegas first became settled by human populations. Springs Preserve also hosts a number of museums, including the Nevada State Museum and the Origen Museum, which focuses on the history of modern Las Vegas.

12. Las Vegas Natural History Museum

This enchanting museum is a must-visit for curious travelers of all ages. Explore the natural world and cultural history from Ancient Egypt and gemstones to real live marine animals and plants.

The Las Vegas Science & Natural History Museum is home to a number of fascinating permanent exhibits, including a gallery of prehistoric fossils (including dinosaurs!), the Wild Nevada Gallery (which focuses on local flora and fauna), as well as the ever-popular Geology Gallery. One of our favorite local museums, it's a great place to bring kids and spend some time cooling off from the hot Vegas weather.

13. Pool Party Tour

drinks at a pool party

Speaking of staying cool...no one goes to Las Vegas without packing a bathing suit. It's also true that the city has some of the best pools in the entire world, but did you know that it's also home to some of the best daytime pool parties you could ever hope to experience? Join up with the Rockstar Pool Party Tour to party like you're a college kid again.

Revel in being escorted by a party limo between a few of the city's hottest pool clubs and enjoy drink specials galore. You can even skip the line at select clubs, making this your most VIP experience in Vegas for sure.

14. The Mob Museum

Did you know that Las Vegas was basically built by notorious mobsters like Bugsy Siegel, Lucky Luciano, Frank Costello, and Meyer Lansky? We could tell you more, but no one weaves this city's jaw-dropping origin story better than The Mob Museum.

Located in downtown Vegas, this spot is full of exhibits and displays that spill secrets you can only begin to imagine. Why not augment your experience by dining at one of downtown's legendary old-school eateries like Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse or Hugo's Cellar? At these classic venues, every lady gets a rose to accompany her mouthwatering meal - a good reason to check them out in my book!

Make Wednesdays Wow in Las Vegas: The Ultimate Guide

Las Vegas shines all week long—but there’s something special about a Wednesday in the city that never sleeps. The crowds thin ever-so-slightly, the tables are (maybe) luckier, and the city’s best attractions await with open arms. Fancy a wild thrill ride along the Strip? Want to soak up ultimate views or discover hidden gems away from the neon lights? Wednesdays offer the perfect blend of relaxed vibes and non-stop excitement. Whether you’re in the mood for a morning spectacle, afternoon indulgence, or a night of mind-bending entertainment, we’ve got just the ticket. Let’s build your perfect Vegas Wednesday!  Our favorite Las Vegas Wednesday experiences include:  The Mob Museum  High Roller Observation Wheel  Mad Apple by Cirque du Soleil  Las Vegas Downtown – Fremont St. Walking Tour  minus5° “Cool Experience” at the Venetian  The Neon Museum  Sweet Sin Bakery & Cafe at the LINQ Promenade  KA by Cirque du Soleil  Hop-On Hop-Off Big Bus Classic Daytime Tour  The Tower at the STRAT  The Mob Museum  Step into Las Vegas’ most gripping history lesson at the Mob Museum. Housed in a grand former courthouse downtown, this immersive spot transports you into the world of vintage glitz and notorious gangsters. The ambience? Think dimly lit corridors where the air practically crackles with stories of lawmen, speakeasies, and the infamous faces who once ruled the Strip. Interactive exhibits dive into Prohibition-era exploits, daring heists, and undercover stings that feel almost cinematic.  On a Wednesday, the museum’s mood is especially atmospheric—wander at your own pace, listen in on audio guides, and maybe try your hand at cracking a code or “operating” a wiretap (don’t worry—no real feds are listening in). Downstairs, you’ll find The Underground, a working speakeasy serving up authentic cocktails straight from the 1920s. The Gin Fizz is a standout—zesty and smooth, just like your museum experience! Whether you’re a history buff or crime drama fan, this journey into Vegas’ criminal (and crime-fighting) past is equal parts fascinating, quirky, and totally unique.  Mad Apple by Cirque du Soleil at New York-New York!  If you crave entertainment with a side of rebel energy, Mad Apple at New York-New York delivers. This Cirque du Soleil show takes a bite out of the Big Apple, blending acrobatics, comedy, and live music that veers delightfully off-script. You’re not just watching a performance—you’re swept right into a cabaret-meets-nightclub scene, with talented acts tumbling, twisting, and crooning their way through New York-inspired chaos.  Wednesday shows buzz with that unique energy only midweek crowds bring: the pace is snappy, and the laughter is plentiful. Expect dazzling aerialists, rapid-fire jokes, and music that demands a little toe-tapping (at minimum). The intimate theater keeps you close to the action; no seat is “just okay.” If your Wednesday night needs a shot of adrenaline, Mad Apple is your answer—bold, irreverent, and always surprising.  Las Vegas Downtown – Fremont St. Walking Tour  Sometimes, Vegas is best explored on foot—especially when your guide is bursting with tales of neon history and old-school Vegas legends. The Fremont Street Walking Tour is a masterclass in stories you won’t find in any guidebook. Wind through glittering canopies and classic casinos, hear about the characters who put Vegas “on the map,” and spot quirky art installations that give downtown its funky flavor.  Midweek tours often mean smaller groups, so you get plenty of face time with your guide (and maybe a secret stop for an insider snack). The ambience is pure old-Vegas: lively, but not overwhelming, and packed with enough vintage vibes to fill your followers’ feeds for days. If you want to see the heart of Las Vegas past and present, make this a Wednesday must-do on your list.  The Neon Museum  Ever wondered where all those legendary Las Vegas signs go when they retire? The Neon Museum’s outdoor “Boneyard” is an art-lover’s dream: a collection of rescued neon signs straight from the city’s glitzy past. Strolling these sand-covered paths, you get up-close with the swirling lights of old casinos, retro motels, and timeless showrooms.  The museum’s guides are passionate, peppering tours with tidbits about Vegas’ rise to superstar status, eccentric business owners, and the one-ups-manship of sign designers (color wars and all). A midweek visit means the space is chill—you’re free to nerd out over your favorites and snap all the artsy photos your heart desires. Add a night tour if you can; the restored signs flicker back to life and let you experience the glow of vintage Vegas exactly as it was meant to be.  Sweet Sin Bakery & Cafe at the LINQ Promenade  When that post-lunch sugar craving hits, Sweet Sin at the LINQ Promenade is your delicious solution. This bakery serves up French-inspired treats with a Las Vegas twist: think glossy cakes, delicately iced cronuts, and fluffy tiramisu cups that tempt from the display case. The vibe is welcoming, with pastel walls and cheery staff who’ll steer you toward their signature creations.  What makes it extra special? Their red velvet cheesecake—a creamy, tart, and downright dreamy slice that’s a favorite among regulars. Grab a seat by the window and watch the everyday magic of the Promenade, or take your treats on the go and savor them beneath the High Roller’s shadow. It’s the kind of indulgent Wednesday pick-me-up Vegas does best.  KA by Cirque du Soleil  Craving a show packed with pure WOW? KA by Cirque du Soleil at MGM Grand is one for the memory books. This isn’t your average theater experience—think gravity-defying stunts, moving stages, and a story woven with martial arts and spellbinding visuals. The music pulses, the fight scenes (choreographed with dazzling precision) make your heart skip, and the set pieces are so bold, you’ll be talking about them long after the final bow.  KA’s Wednesday performances buzz with fresh energy—perfect for capping off an action-packed day, or as a dazzling main event for your Vegas week. The immersive set means there isn’t a bad seat in the house, and every moment is packed with visual treats and surprises. Whether you’re a Cirque die-hard or a first-timer, KA brings the drama—in the absolute best way.  Hop-On Hop-Off Big Bus Classic Daytime Tour  Sightseeing in Las Vegas can be dazzling, but sometimes you want the fun without all the footwork. Enter the Hop-On Hop-Off Big Bus Classic Daytime Tour. This open-top double-decker rolls down the Strip and into Downtown, serving up unobstructed views of the city's glitter and grit. It's the ultimate way to get your Vegas bearings—especially on a sunny Wednesday when the roads are less crowded and you can snag a coveted seat up top.  Expert guides share stories about everything from hidden film locations to celebrity escapades, with plenty of time to snap pics at famous stops. You’ll pass by fountains, marvel at pyramids and castles (Vegas-style), and hop off wherever your curiosity leads—maybe for a wild slot pull, a snack adventure, or a stroll down Fremont Street. If your Wednesday is feeling too packed? No problem. Stay aboard, kick back, and let the city come to you, with fresh desert air and juicy insider trivia all the way.  The Tower at the STRAT  If you believe adventure tastes best with a side of adrenaline, The Tower at the STRAT is your kind of challenge. Rising a jaw-dropping 1,149 feet over Las Vegas Boulevard, this is where thrill-seekers test their nerve and snap those can’t-miss city panoramas. Take the high-speed elevator up, then step onto the Observation Deck, where floor-to-ceiling windows show off the complete sweep of desert, mountains, and neon glamour.  Got a brave streak? Strap in for one of the rides perched at the very top—Insanity, X-Scream, or Big Shot each deliver their own signature heart-in-mouth moments (and bragging rights last for years). For something a little tamer, just bask in the view or grab a drink from the bar. Wednesday’s lighter crowds mean more room to move, better selfie angles, and extra time to let that Vegas vista properly sink in.    There you have it: your recipe for a Wednesday in Las Vegas that’s anything but ordinary! From old-school stories and neon dreams to sugar rushes and sky-high thrills, you’ll find plenty to love whether you crave the weird, the wild or just the world-class. Dive in, explore, and let your Vegas Wednesday make every other hump day a little jealous.    Enjoyed this? Vegas Food Markets: Where Flavor Wins Big Every Time

Las Vegas may be famous for its bright lights and flowing poker chips, but its food markets steal the spotlight for locals and visiting food-lovers alike. From eclectic food halls packed with global flavors to relaxed farmers’ markets brimming with Nevada-grown produce, Vegas brings together unbeatable eats and a dash of showbiz flair. Whether you’re searching for a casual breakfast, a unique snack, or ingredients for a picnic between sightseeing, we’ve mapped out the culinary gems to add to your Sin City itinerary. Grab your appetite and let’s spin the wheel on the tastiest food markets Vegas has to offer!  Our favorite Las Vegas food markets include:  Las Vegas Farmers Market Downtown Summerlin  The Market at Fergusons Downtown  Las Vegas Farmers Market at Henderson Pavilion  Downtown Container Park  International Marketplace  Booze District Market  Las Vegas Asian Night Market  The LINQ Promenade (including Sweet Sin Bakery & Cafe)  Arts District 18b Farmers Market  Las Vegas Farmers Market Downtown Summerlin  Love fresh flavors with your morning stroll? The Downtown Summerlin Farmers Market lights up every Saturday in the heart of one of Vegas’ trendiest shopping and dining neighborhoods. Picture rows of cheerful tents bursting with seasonal produce, locally produced honey, fresh herbs, and beautiful baked goods. Local food trucks serve creative breakfast and brunch plates—think artisan bagels, crispy churros, or eggs loaded with farm-fresh veggies. Don’t miss the jams, salsas, and small-batch sauces; they make the perfect edible souvenir and a tasty way to bring Vegas flavor home.  The vibe here is relaxed and family-friendly, with live music often providing a cheerful soundtrack and kids darting between the stalls. Among the shaded seating, you’ll spot locals planning their weekend menus and tourists loading up coolers for the day. Pair your visit with a browse through Summerlin’s shops and maybe a walk around nearby Red Rock Canyon. This market is perfect if you want a break from the Strip’s buzz but still crave variety and excitement.  The Market at Fergusons Downtown  Fergusons Downtown transforms a historic motel into an energetic local hub, drawing artists, makers, and foodies from sunrise to sunset. Their monthly Market in the Alley event is a crowd-pleaser, showcasing small food vendors serving everything from cold-pressed juices to street tacos, vegan sweets to hand-roasted coffee. You’ll often find chefs cooking up fusion specials—one month, it’s Korean barbecue sliders; the next, it’s fresh empanadas and lemonade fizzes.  What makes Fergusons stand out is the energy: think murals, pop-up art, crafts, and colorful crowds chatting under string lights. Live bands and DJs bring festival vibes, and the pet-friendly lawn invites you to linger long after your last bite. Beyond the food, the market’s creative spirit lets you shop for handmade jewelry, vinyl records, and more, making this spot a favorite for both the hungry and the curious. Visit for an afternoon snack, stay for sunset, and walk away feeling like you found a hidden slice of Vegas.  Downtown Container Park  Step into a world of creativity at Downtown Container Park—a market-meets-food court constructed from recycled shipping containers just off Fremont Street. Each “container” houses a different vendor whipping up everything from loaded barbecue plates and authentic tacos to vegan pizza and locally brewed kombucha. The popular Bin 702 crams charcuterie boards and gourmet cheese sandwiches into its cozy corner, while JoJo’s Jerky serves up crave-worthy, Nevada-made snacks.  You’ll barely be able to keep up with the flavor combinations, and after lunch, there’s more fun: enjoy craft cocktails on an open-air patio, let the kids loose on the massive playground, or catch a performance at the outdoor stage. Art installations and quirky stores round out the mix. If Vegas’ polished Strip feels overwhelming, Container Park delivers breezy, hip vibes with a focus on food, friends, and fun times.  International Marketplace  Hungry for a global adventure? International Marketplace is where Vegas’ melting pot truly comes alive. This sprawling market feels like a treasure hunt for foodies, with aisle after aisle of imported goods—Japanese candies, French cheeses, Caribbean hot sauces, and so much more. What makes it special? The on-site delis and pop-up counters: you might line up for fresh sushi, steaming bao buns, or Filipino lumpia, all before grabbing a Turkish coffee and dumplings to go.  Start at the produce section, overflowing with tropical and hard-to-find fruits, then loop through the spice shelves for something new to take home. Staff here are friendly and happy to recommend ingredients for a customized Vegas-inspired picnic back at your hotel or an impromptu global feast. With everything under one roof, International Marketplace is a must-visit for curious eaters and culinary explorers alike.  Booze District Market  Prefer your food markets with a side of craft brew? Henderson’s Booze District Market pairs small-batch beers and spirits with food pop-ups covering every craving: wood-fired pizzas, barbecue tacos, and seasonal salads using Nevada-grown ingredients. Friendly staff encourage tastings, and it’s easy to build your own flight of drinks as you snack and mingle with locals.  Brewery tours are available most weekends, while live music and food trucks keep the energy high. The casual atmosphere makes this an easy spot to meet up with friends or even make a few new ones. While it’s outside the bustle of the main Strip, the Booze District Market is perfect if you want to relax, sip, and snack Vegas-style.  Las Vegas Asian Night Market  Skip dinner and head straight for the Las Vegas Asian Night Market, where street food, cultural performances, and local vendors keep things festive late into the evening. Held several times a year, this market draws crowds for its dizzying snack lineup—skewered meats grilled over charcoal, bao stuffed with pork belly, spicy noodles, mango sticky rice, and endless boba tea combos.  Light installations and music provide a high-energy backdrop, while local artisans sell crafts and gifts for a fun (and delicious) night out. It’s a fantastic way to experience Vegas’ thriving Asian community and find new favorite foods. Dates vary, so check local listings during your trip and bring an empty stomach—you’ll want to sample everything!  Arts District 18b Farmers Market  Seekers of local flavor and creativity should carve out time for the Arts District 18b Farmers Market, set within downtown’s ever-evolving hub for makers, musicians, and artists. Every first Friday and select weekends, this market draws Las Vegas’ most passionate food growers and craftspeople. What’s on offer? Think crisp hydroponic greens, seasonal veggies, and baskets of just-picked stone fruit, alongside sunflowers and succulents to brighten your hotel or Airbnb.  Food stands pour fresh cold brew and serve specialty toasts loaded with avocado or heirloom tomatoes. For a more substantial bite, dig into spicy breakfast tacos, Cajun jambalaya, or falafel wraps—many using locally sourced ingredients. Bakers show off pillow-soft doughnuts, gluten-free cookies, and artisan breads, while specialty vendors peddle spicy jams, hand-pressed olive oils, and quirky hot sauces begging to be taste-tested.  Tips for Visiting Vegas Food Markets  Go early for the best selection and lower temperatures. Desert mornings mean happy produce and fewer crowds.  Bring cash and a reusable tote. While many vendors take cards, some are cash-only, and a sturdy bag makes stocking up simple.  Check market schedules, as some markets are weekly, while others pop up monthly or seasonally.  Ask about samples! Vegas market folks love sharing their favorite new creation or family recipe.  Pair your market trip with a nearby sight. Many markets sit close to parks, galleries or landmark attractions, making them a perfect launchpad for your Vegas adventure.  Make Every Bite Count in Vegas  Las Vegas’ food markets aren’t just about what you eat—they’re an instant dive into the city’s off-Strip thrills, a chance to meet passionate locals and try tastes you’ll remember long after checkout. Whether you’re packing the perfect picnic, tasting ramen at midnight, or searching for a gift that beats souvenir-shop kitsch, these bustling markets deliver flavor and fun in spades.  So, save room in your Vegas itinerary—and your suitcase—for something fresh, surprising, and soaked in local color. From farm stands to fusion stalls, these food markets prove that, in Las Vegas, everyone goes home a winner.    Enjoyed this?
