What you'll do

Come aboard the HMS Belfast for a truly immersive journey into naval history.

Once the home of 950 crew who lived and served onboard, HMS Belfast is now an interactive museum bursting with globetrotting history. It offers fascinating insights about what life was like at sea, from family activities to interactive displays and eyewitness accounts of maritime events.

HMS Belfast fired some of the opening shots on D-Day, sailed in freezing conditions in the Arctic Circle, and served in the Korean War.

There’s so much to see and do at HMS Belfast. Hear first-hand veterans’ stories about life aboard this impressive ship and learn about its past. Climb up and down the ladders and visit all nine decks, from the hull of the ship to the Boiler and Engine Rooms way down below sea level, all the way up to the Flag Deck. It’s so big that you can almost lay Big Ben across the deck twice!

Explore the ship’s mess decks and see the Captain’s Bridge to experience what life was like onboard and go on a truly immersive journey into naval history. HMS Belfast has its very own chapel, radio station, and bakery.

Go on a hidden seahorse trail that uncovers the meaning of the HMS Belfast’s crest. Kids will love painting their very own plaster crest or seahorse to take home as a souvenir.

Moored on the Thames between London’s two most iconic bridges – London Bridge and Tower Bridge, you’ll enjoy captivating views of the capital’s skyline and the River Thames.

Make sure you check the website ahead of your visit, as there are special events, film screenings, and rotating activities onboard. Most visitors spend at least three hours – or a full afternoon – on HMS Belfast.
