‭After‬‭ visiting‬‭ El‬‭ Escorial,‬‭ you'll‬‭ head‬‭ to‬‭ Valle‬‭ de‬‭ los‬‭ Caídos‬‭ (Valley‬‭ of‬‭ the‬‭ Fallen),‬‭ a‬‭ monumental‬‭ complex‬‭ built‬‭ in‬‭ the‬‭ Madrid‬‭ mountains‬‭ to‬‭ commemorate‬‭ those‬‭ who‬‭ fell‬‭ during‬‭ the‬‭ Spanish‬‭ Civil‬‭ War.‬ You'll‬‭ visit‬‭ the‬‭ Basilica,‬‭ an‬‭ impressive‬‭ structure‬‭ carved‬‭ into‬‭ the‬‭ rock,‬‭ and‬‭ the‬‭ outdoor‬‭ esplanade‬‭ featuring a massive 150-meter-high cross.‬
