Amsterdam Tulip Museum
This fragrant museum in the heart of Amsterdam will show why the Dutch are crazy for tulips!
What you'll do
This quaint museum is located in a small canal house in the charming Jordaan neighborhood. It sits amidst intimate boutique shops, galleries, cafés and restaurants. Perfect for Tulip or flower lovers!
The small but dynamic Amsterdam Tulip museum captivates visitors all year round with varied exhibits by local artists dedicated to informing people about the special history of the tulip, which held some great economic power in the Dutch Golden Age during the mid-seventeenth century, including a phenomenon called 'Tulipomania'.
It is a great place to visit for the whole family, plus people generally interested in flowers and gardening, with the chance to purchase bulbs of all variations from the gift shop. Kids will also be fascinated by the beautifully decorated rooms, colorful pictures, and a fairy-tale-like depiction of the voyage of the tulip from Turkey to Holland carved in wood.
There is also a wonderful gift shop where you can find lots of tulip-themed souvenirs to take home for friends and family.
