Connect yourself to Hawaiian land and culture with this hands-on Taro Pounding & Kava Experience!
After an introduction to the significance and history of the land and the practice, you'll be taken on a short but stunning tour of the valley that captures the breathtaking beauty, rich heritage and serene energy of the surroundings.
Immerse yourself in the traditional Hawaiian food preparation. Pound some Kalo (Taro) using traditional tools, taste your hard work and learn about the stories behind this ritualistic experience and why it's important to Hawaiian culture.
You'll then get to participate in the Awa (Kava) presentation and be served a refreshing drink made from the Kava root and understand its significance in Hawaii and throughout the Pacific.
This is a fantastic opportunity to dive into Hawaiian culture and discover the traditions of their ancestors who carried out these practices years ago and why it still holds deep meaning for the people today.

Head to the Oahu Experience website to make your reservation. Select the 'Kalo Pounding and Kava Experience', pick the date and time of the class you'd like to book, then use promo code gooahu at checkout, insert your pass numbers and complete the details to make your reservation.
